Carowinds announces 2003 plans

It appears that this new Nick Central area will take place of Old World Market Place. Sad, more of the original, well-done theming lost to cheesy tv theming.

Kings Islands Nick Central was very well done themewise. You cant keep the park the same forever. Things change.

I thought they already had a junior inverted family ride coaster(?). Strange. Also, Riccochet this season? They've built all kinds of stuff since I was last there just after the Hurler, but Top Gun being the only "exciting looking" one, LOL. They are growing for the families.

We used to go there all the time, but the rides were loosing excitement for us, especially since SFoG was so close by, there wasn't enough excitement to draw us back & keep us.

BTW, I want to see something big & mean there, & it NEEDS to be called Blackbeard's Revenge, ARRRR!

Actually, the water ride isnt new, just re-themed. Its the old Powder-Keg Flume, being turned into Wild Thornberry's River Adventure.

I think you are thinking of Silver Streak at Paramount's Canada's Wonderland. If not that, then Rugrats Runaway Reptar at Paramount's Kings Island. Both those rides are identical and is what Carowinds will be installing for debut 2003.

I was talking about the Saturator;), couldn't remember what they called it.

I wouldn't call Kings Island's Nick Central area well done. Lots of concrete, very fake looking oversized plastic character statues. What is well done about it? It makes me feel like im at some cheesy wax museum, not another place in time as a theme park is supposed to do.

It may not be a huge new coaster but I'd take it if it was my home park.

Well carowinds isnt getting a big coaster next year. I was hoping for sumthing BIG but i guess a little coaster is better than nothing..... but the past 2 years they built all these little rides like riccochet and super saturator they are fun and all but we need sumthing BIG and sexciting or some flat rides or sumthing
