Carowinds 4/3/04

Associated parks:
None

I was at Carowinds on Saturday volunteering for the Walk For Juvenile Diabetes. We got done volunteering around 1:30 in the afternoon and my friend Tina and myself went into the park at around 2.

First off we headed straight for BORG. The ride looks quite impressive and I like how the line goes under the ride instead of just going back and forth countless times. They were only running one train so the line moved a little slow. We waited two hours before getting on. I realized how usless the Single Rider Line is, as someone infront of us got into the single rider line and we ended up riding before him, guess it serves all those families right for thinking they can cheat the system. Now onto the ride...

One word "friggin-amazing", we rode in the back row and everything about the ride was wonderful, nice forces, pretty smooth (only noticed a few bumps during the turn around the BORG Sphere). I was impressed with this ride, and the theming is simply awsome. The ride also look very eerie at night, only the loop is illuminated and it truly looks like something from another planet. My friend told me the next day that she got a call late that night from one of her friends that works at the park saying that the BORG stalled in the loop, I highly doubt this, but has anyone heard anything like this?

The rest of the park was lookin nice. Vortex looks great with a fresh shiny coat of paint and seemed to a running a bit smoother, Cyclone was running great as well as Hurler. Top Gun was awsome as usual and Thunder Road was running smooth and fast on both sides. Overall a great day at the park and a big two thumbs up for the BORG! *** Edited 4/5/2004 9:51:25 PM UTC by RCmuzikGuY***

"The mourning period is over and the only silver lining is that George W Bush is now prohibited by law to run again" Well, at least we have a silver lining
BORG did stall in the loop during the testing phase in early March. Didn't quite make it through. Is she saying it stalled more recently?
The caller claimed that BORG stalled in the loop on saturday night with people in the train. Again, I highly doubt this, I'm just reporting what I heard.

Glad to hear someone loved Borg as much as I did. The "single rider" line was abused when I was there in late March. It ended up being about as long, if not longer than the regular queue. :-(

I waited about an hour and a half I think, but it was worth it. The rest of the park was dead. :-D
