Carowinds & Kings Dominion Removing Intimidator Theme from Rides

Our school plays Thunderstruck at pretty much every assembly. Great song, but "I was shaking at the knees. Could I come again please?" at a high school pep assembly?

And it gets dumber.

And this immortal sin:

Promoter of fog.

At least the the Thunder Striker and Project 305 areas look better than this:

Re: Project 305…I saw this earlier but it’s just a working title, right? It’s not the actual name…right?

It’s just a placeholder while they ready the Superman sign.

Back to my Geauga Lake photo I posted - does anyone happen to have a picture of the seatbacks after they took a branding iron to the Batman logos? I have looked everywhere now for two days can't find one.

It’s not the actual name…right?

Considering that the sign is dimensional and the safety guide updated, it is.

The main question is how did they modify the Nascar nose on the train to look?

It was pretty generic. Take the Chevy logo and headlight decals off, and I'm not even sure if I'd still identify it as a car.

Didn't the park say that the ride would be unforgettable in the near future, or something like that?

Project 305 is a horrible name, but if the new theme/story was to have synergy with of Fear's theme, similarly to how Orion was themed, it just might be kind of clever.

I still say KD's 305 is one of the worst coasters in the country. It's ketchup and mustard colored, doesn't do anything interesting after the first drop, and is placed on a dead end with an entrance hidden behind a wall. I'm all for them doing anything to improve it. So far, the new name makes it less appealing.

It's from a video I had taken, of the test seat, but same deal! A little sander action to remove the logos.

Oooo, that's one of the cleaner ones. Some of them (at least in the very beginning) just had a circle where you could still see the edge of the Batman logo.

It does have the most intense corner G of any coaster I have ridden, it made me grey like 3 times...

If I had my way I'd make it the ultimate giga multi-launch...

I still find it interesting that plot at both KD and KI have always had overhyped things put on them. but only Leviathon uses that corner well, and it has a parking lot not woods like KD and KI.

It’s remnant of the Cedar Fair mentality from when they first bought the Taft parks. They thought installing a coaster with big stats anywhere would bring in huge crowds. It didn’t.

Counterpoint: installing a coaster with big stats anywhere did bring in huge crowds at Kings Island, Carowinds, and Canada's Wonderland. The only place it didn't work was Kings Dominion, and it probably would have worked a lot better had they built a different ride than I305.

I don't quite get the hate for I305, it's rather different that most large coasters, its all about speed and turns, you know, almost like it was meant to resemble some sort of motorsport or something, maybe they should give it a F1 or Nascar theme or something...

It’s just not a fun ride. Leviathan may be short, but at least it doesn’t feel like punishment. Posistive G’s and quick turns are interesting in moderation, but not for an entire giga’s layout, especially in the absence of air. Skyrush (original restraints) might be the only coaster with a worse potential:realization ratio.

I also loved skyrush, it’s easily a tie with Magnum for best hyper for two very different experiences. Both are consider rough or painful by many, maybe I just like it rough??

I’ve never been beat up or sore from sky rush, or i305. Oddly the ride that left the most bruising on me was maverick with those hard stiff restraints.

I dunno about everyone else, and this may sound dumb, but anyone else think i305 with Orion's theme would be visually satisfying?

Or just paint the whole thing gloss black, put some chrome accents on it, and do a street rod paint job on the trains. Call it Something related to street racing. I dunno.
