Carowinds - 8/28/2010

Went to Carowinds today and had a blast. We had been here several years ago, but that visit was short and lines were long, so we didn't do much. Today, though, we got there at opening and rode just about everything we wanted to ride. My favorite coaster here, by far, is also one of the smallest ones I've ridden: Carolina Cobra. Great little ride.

Carowind's version of Intimidator is just OK. KD's version is far more intense and, overall, better. It was a bit of a let down.

After Burn was decent, though I should have had breakfast and then ride this.

I enjoyed Carolina Goldrush, but the kids didn't care much for that. After Intimidator and After Burn, I was ready for something a bit tame.

Though I passed on the wooden coasters, they looked rough and my son pretty much confirmed as much. He still liked them.

The crowd was surprisingly light, we didn't wait very long for anything except for water rapids...they waited an hour and a half.

Overall, Carowinds is a terrific park, clean, well kept and, surprisingly, fresh paint on most of the attractions-unlike another place we recently visited.

My big complaint: the bloody food prices. Outrageous. We ended up eating outside the park.
After spending 12 bucks on three drinks, I decided not to spend any more.

We'll definitely make a return trip. Great experience overall.

My park is better than yours!
