Canobie Lake Park, Salem, New Hampshire, USA
First of all, it's been a while since I've posted, but I have good reason to now.
June 11th dawned rainy & wet, but I was bound & determined to ride Untamed. A new coaster opening in my back yard? How could I pass this up?
Let's get the obligitory stuff out the way first: The park was spotless with not one petunia out of place, the staff were very plesant to deal with, despire the crappy weather.
Now on to the meat of the story: UNTAMED.
The crew was clicking from the time the first riders went out and stayed that way all day. The themeing is done very tastefully with the station styled like a log cabin with REAL granite steps leading into the station. Even cooler were the chainsaw-carved bears of all sizes throughout. The track supports (and nearly every other mechanical part that be painted) were doe up to look like birch bark, and that even INCLUDES the drive sproket for the lift chain!
The only way I can think to describe the ride is is smooth and ifinitly rideable! It's well-balanced between airtime, zero-g, and high-g.
How do I know this? How about 60 legit laps on it! I know this unheard of, but thanks to the crappy weather, the park had low crowds!
This MIGHT be the coaster that FINALLY puts Canobie on the map!
Coaster Junkie from NH
I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!
That is an impressive run compared to my 6.
