Paramont unfortunately seems to have done this with nearly every themed ride they ever created. In PKI alone, the differences on Top Gun, Flight of Fear and Adventure Express are extremely, extremely major things and make all of those rides a lot less entertaining in my opinion. Heck, even rides like the Beast lost part of their allure when the water was drained. It seems that Paramont and Kings before them invested a ton of money into making the rides look amazing when they opened, but never spent any time maintaining them. Heck, even their haunted house thing went from being wonderful to a state of disrepair by its last year.

I love their rides and I don't blame them for not fixing everything (hell, Disney has been extremely slow to fix effects in certain rides too sometimes), but they should fix things at least most of the time :(
