Canada's Wonderland said that the Time Warp rollercoaster is "being retired" before the park opens in May for the summer season. Initially known as Tomb Raider: The Ride, it first opened in 2004.

A Zamperla Volare? Somehow I don't think we'll see a whole lot of enthusiast whining about no last rides on this one.
Filmed on a potato for your approval:
Hilarious. That video was taken 20 years ago this summer.
I got cheated out of my first and last ride. I demand compensation. Where is the make me whole department?
Let's hear a round of applause for Gonch's video editing matching up with the original music. That extra effort makes the video better, even if it was recorded with a potato.
That ride has always looked like trash. I'm not upset that I've never ridden one.
I don't think anyone is going to complain about it not reopening, because its replacement looks like it could be one of the best coasters of all time. I need to get out there sometime.

I rode it twice because it wasn't as bad as the Vekoma hang-n-bang next door, which I only did once. This is a great move, hopefully they will get a nice B&M or MACK in it's place. Or maybe one of those nice little Gravity Group woodies.
Where does one have to go to get on one now? Rye? Prater? Any others? I would do it once for 1) the credit and 2) the experience.
Coney Island's Luna Park has the only operational one in North America. Rye Playland's hasn't operated since 2022.
Obviously I want RCMAC to get the credit*, but once that's taken care of, there's got to be something better Zamperla could do with that space at Coney Island.
*Not the experience however. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I rode the one at Elitch, and it's firmly placed at the bottom of my track record. What an awful contraption.
Hi
I have ridden Rye's and Canada Wonderland's and they are really awful. It's not "only" that they're rough. Many Togos and SLC's were much worse. It's that there's nothing remotely redeeming about the layout or the experience. Completely unremarkable in every way except that it hurt.
Of course, in ten years, everyone will swear that this was the best ride ever and should never have been dismantled (see: Drachen Fire).
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Except Drachen Fire was awesome, and that's not just a misguided memory. Might have had something to do with mostly front seat rides, but I never had the traumatic experience everyone else seemed to have had on it.
I've never ridden a Volare, but I can't recall ever hearing anyone praise it even a little bit.
I concur, I rode Drachen Fire a few times. All on the same day, first year it was there and before they removed the element. I loved it at the time, but as it was an Arrow with a lot of forces, I can see how it would degrade quickly.
Volares have no redeeming quality whatsoever.
Hi
Soarin' Eagle at Luna Park was easily my most painful coaster experience ever, and that was before we even left the station. I guess at 5'8" I was both too tall and too short for the foot rests, and once we tipped horizontal, I instantly regretted adopting my "I'll try any ride once!" mantra. I haven't made it to Canada's Wonderland yet, but at least now I won't have to suffer through another Volare to get all the credits.
When Drachen Fire was brand new I attended an enthusiast event which consequently allowed me to ride it many, many times. Everyone raved about it, especially that corkscrew roll right off the lift. The problematic cutback element wasn’t great, but they got a pass from most of us. Arrow mega-loopers were all the rage then and it seemed so innovative compared to others. I always just assumed the ride would find a comfortable place on the park’s roster but oddly, the first time I was there to ride it was also the last.
