Hello Fellow Coasterbuzzers,
We are headed to Toronto next week, planning on Canada's Wonderland on Friday 7/25. This is the only day available for the park. Weather is not looking awesome, with a 60% chance of rain. How is the parks rain policy? Restrictive like Cedar Point, or looser like Kings Island?
We are not opposed to rainy rides, as long the rides will actually run. Any experience or advice? Thanks!
If that's the only day I could go, and it is a new-to-me park, I'd go. Maybe it's a rainout, maybe not. I'd still manage to have fun.
It’s been a long time since I went almost 11 years ago. However, I remember riding leviathan in rain both times I went on it during my visit. I don’t remember any other rides being down either. The good news is this was after the magnum incident which changed the cedar point policy. The bad is that it was 11 years ago so things may have changed.

The funny thing is, people come to Orlando in July, look at the forecast, and say, "OMG it's gonna rain all week!" And while that's technically true, it doesn't necessarily mean rain every day, all day. I imagine that's true elsewhere.

Isn't it normal in Orlando for there to be strong (but brief) passing storm during the day; at least during the summer?
Promoter of fog.
Yeah, usually late afternoon in the summer. I don't find it to be that different from Ohio, aside from the occasional hurricane.

Too late for you, but about a month or so ago I was at CW and everything remained open in the rain (no lightning). Rode Behemoth in the rain, it was like needles going in my face, so I had to close my eyes, which disoriented me, which led to me puking in a bush. YMMV.
Hi
Well, as it turns out the forecast completely shifted 2 days out. The weather changed on Wednesday to a cloudy, humid day. It turned out to be mostly sunny and warm.
Thanks to all for the input. It turns out you should never trust a weather forecast more than 36 hours out.
