Can not modify Six Flags Coasters

Tonight I was playing in my sandbox scenario and thought I would make some changes to a Six Flags coaster. Imagine my surprise that when you build a Six Flags ride, the 'crane icon' is disabled, and if you try to click on the track to make changes you get a "This ride can not be modified" error message.

So all those who wanted to restore the Texas Giant to its original shape, or wanted to tweak some of your least favorite Six Flags rides into rides more to your liking are out of luck.

I know, to me this could be the single most annoying feature of the new game....its preposterous! And Im not being sarcastic either.

I really want to modify X. Not because I don't like the coaster, but because I want to see how the Multi-Dimension coaster is put together.

I'm sure a patch will be out sooner or later to enable this.

Patrick, while I hope they do make a patch to edit SF coasters, I doubt it will happen... Its part of the branding thing. I'm guessing it will be in some type of trainer someone will make though.

Why does everyone want to patch everything they don't like? The SF coasters pretty much suck anyway.

Think about it all of the "Six Flags Coasters" are copy righted and you can't modify them because of that. What you can do is re-make it or I wonder if you save it as a diffrent name it might let you.
Maybe a trainer could hack in and fix this? At least the other designs are cool, and plentiful.
I don't really use the SF coasters anyway. They take up ridiculous amounts of room and cost a LOT of money. Not worthwhile investments when I can get the same ratings for lest cost through a layout that I build or Chris Sawyer has on there...
i noticed the swoop out of the station on their NITRO recreation is like a premade piece for that ride. i tryed to recreate it, but i dont think you can. it looks wierd.
The six flags coasters really do take up alot of room, espeically goliath. Shockwave was done very nicely, with a small footprint, I think the excitment is a little different from real life.

The swoop for nitro can be made by you i made it. This is how you make it.

1st. make the station.

2nd. Make 1 small slope

3rd. click the smallest turn but don't insert it go from \ to _

4th. add 2 of those

don't belive me ask for a screen at franciscusxtreme@yahoo.com

I wonder why the corckscrew coasters height was reduced and you can't make banked turns. I wanted to make a good recreation of gasm but I couldn't. I made a perfect recreation of Nitro and Medusa I got to see how I can have it downloaded. The Lim launched coaster is junk it never make it back around unless you make a low top hat, which won't look right. I just avoid using this coaster.

I agree about the LIM coasters jay-rider. I'd really like to ask Chris Sawyer if he did any research on these things. first of all they should be able to launch faster than 69 mph second real ones have LIMs anywhere on the track and third try making Robin The Chiller or Flight Of Fear. You cant , there's no half loop element and Quarter loops dont look right for cobra rolls

As for copy rights Steel Phantom, this isn't the real world I never had Six Flags,Paramount, D C or Marvel comics threatening to sue me when I released parks with their properties and ride designs in them. You probably can't alter the six flags rides(I haven't tried the other pre made rides) to keep you from over writing them in your saved track files have you noticed when you build a pre made track it calls it by its saved name not "roller coaster 1". Or it's an ego thing on Sawyers part as we have all made better looking boomerang coasters and shuttle loop coasters than he did in rct 1

Great, more "Chris Sawyer" comments. I swear it would've been better if he never put his name on the game and just anonymously produced the game.

I doubt it has anything to do with research. The guy is well versed in coasters, and in fact has even run stuff by members of this very site. There are concessions I'm sure he made from a programming standpoint, whether it be for performance or time constratints. Every little variation on something requires more code, and more code means a performance hit.

All things considered, I'm still amazed that the game can do as much as it can.

What I found odd is that I couldn't even move the entrance and exit on the predesigned shuttle loop since it was in one of the SF scenarios elsewhere. That seems to be going a bit far.

(You can, however, edit all the non-coaster rides in the 6F scenarios... log flumes, rapids, etc.)

Of course, I could build my own shuttle loop, but I was just trying the lazy man's way.
