Camden Park

Has anyone been there. I haven't but I know the person who's parent's own it. Does anyone have pics. Can anyone post there Trip Report.

Thanks

Jacob

Camden used to be my home park, but I haven't been there in years. Try searching the Trip Reports section for past reports (I know there have been a few), and click here for pics.

It's a pretty neat park. I was there in July.

Pictures are here.

It's old, It's different. Probably has one of the best non Lusse Dodgems, Best whip by far, Killer Spider, Paratrooper and Catapillar. Neat Flume.

Coasters are ok, Nothing great but worth riding.

Chuck, who had fun at Camden

It's official Lesourdsville Lake is closed for 2003

Not to mention the gravity-powered Pretzel dark ride and beautiful NAD Century Flyers (adult and junior flavors).

It's a shame the carousel is a POS with no band organ.

While I've never been there, Camden is high on my list of places I have to get to. Hopefully next season.

I grew up in WV so I have been to Camden a good number of times. I have not visited the park this year but I heard that they did a ton of improvements to the park as far as landscaping., as well as add a Kite Flyer.

In the last 10 years or so Camden Park has struggled financially but they are really starting to slowly get the respect that they deserve. The had a nasty fire a few years ago, but have cleaned it up and have added several minor attractions. The lake with the Swan Boats was a big boost, at least in appearance.

Camden Park has THEE BEST Whip of all time (as far as I am concerned) as well as an awesome collection of flats. The Big Dipper was one of my first coasters, and actually has some killer airtime in a few spots if you sit in the right seat. The Little Dipper is also much fun. :-) The Dippers have been running quite well the last few years, and you can't resist appreciating the NAD trains.

It's worth a visit, Jacob, and you will be pleasantly surprised. The only downfall is the Thunderbolt Express, which is still SBNO (was once the Screamin Demon at PKI).

The Haunted House is also quite hilarious. The whole park is very different than what you would expect. It's probably the only park where you will see an Indian Burial Mound in the middle of the park.

Just beware of the "floating burgers". The "Pronto Pups" are ok.
