Cali's Spring Break

I was just wondering when Spring Break is in Southern California, I'm planning a trip to go down there maybe in April and hit Knotts and the Mountain, but I want to avoid the crowds. Thanks for any useful replies.

The problem, Steve, is that there are so many school districts in the So Cal area and they don't all have breaks during the same week. The easiest way to tell when *most* schools are out is to check SFMM's operations schedule. They will be open daily and have extended hours, and thusly will also be the most crowded.

I was thinking about hitting the park that week as well. Do you think the lines will be longer during the week than the preceding Saturday/Sunday?

Thanks!

Spring Break has traditionally been the week before or after Easter. Magic Mountain is open every day in April.

Yes, SFMM is open daily in April but they will have *extended hours* during the week of Spring Break.

Thanks Mamoosh. I took a look at SFMM's and Knott's operating hours calendar, and discovered that the 3rd week of April is the week both of these parks have extended hours. Luckily I'm planning for the first week of April. Both of these parks close at 6pm this week, which sucks, but does anyone have an idea of how the crowds will be for both of these parks during the middle of that week?

^Short Hours at Knotts will keep the crowds far away. You'll be FINE at KBF and SFMM in the 1st week of April. Sure, it will be a little more crowded than a tuesday in january (due to the time of year and colleges getting out longer), but it sure beats any holiday or weekend. You WILL GET ON EVERYTHING if you go on weekdays. Disneyland and DCA aren't too bad on monday- friday. Sundays aren't even THAT bad at Disneyland (especially when the fastpass machines accept KBF APs ; )
Steve, if you go the second week of Apirl Scream will be open.
