California Trip

I know this has been asked numerous times, but I am heading to California for 4 days in august (3-7). I want to spend 2 days at SFMM, and a day or two at Knotts. do I need two at Knotts? and how far apart are they?

56.9 miles apart, according to Yahoo Maps [you could have easily gotten this answer too, ya know]. One day at Knott's should be enough.

SRM -- May 30-31
Vegas -- June 7-9
ACE Con-Quest -- June 11-22

It may be fifty some odd miles, but it may also take you a long time to get there with LA traffic. I was there two weeks ago and there were often many backups on I-5. But yes, one day at Knott's should be enough. XCelerator's line moved pretty fast when I was there, despite breakdowns. Just hope there isn't a big concert.

The secret to driving between Knotts and SFMM: instead of taking the 5 (which I NEVER do, unless it's late at night or the weekend), use the 605-210-5 route. This route will always be better than the 5, and it also features a carpool lane most of the way, which is excellent if you have 2 or more in your car.

If you're going to drive between the two, I highly recommend doing it the night before, and getting a hotel near the park you're going to be visiting the next day. Morning traffic is too heavy and too unpredictable.
