CAC out of the picture for now

nasai's avatar
Well, as of today, Kevin Coley announced he's not interested in doing the work to have another CAC at Silverwood. :(

Since he's out of the picture, anyone interested should definitely contact Silverwood, and see if they, as a park, are interested still, and see what it'll take to make something happen. Doing it in conjunction with the Puyallup fair would be ideal, as you can get the very, very hard credits there, including the wonderful Coaster:Thrill Ride.

BTW, don't ask me. Yes, I live here, but Robbie's not doing the legwork on this one. ;)

If I weren't responsible for about making about 12.67 other things happen right now, I'd seek fame and fortune by trying to organize this event.

Truthfully, though, I sort of collapse to the ground and convulse just *thinking* about driving across eastern Washington again.

ACE is doing a Silverwood event that, from what I understand, is a lot like CAC was. You don't have to be in ACE either.

I can HELP, but being 15, I can't do it on my own. I'd be happy to do a cooperation.:) *** Edited 3/4/2004 6:50:27 AM UTC by GoliathKills***

The ACE event is being held on May 15th for those of you that are interested.

I recently tried to put together a coaster event at the Puyallup fair, but once the cost figures came in along with the number who would be attending,it would have been way too expensive for the average coaster enthusiast to attend,so I dropped the idea at that point.I can appreciate the amount of effort that goes into making these events happen.

That's a shame about CAC -- it was one of the most fun times I've ever had.

ACE is also doing a "Summer" con in September (don't ask me, I didn't name it ;) ) that'll be Puyallup, Enchanted Village, and Vancouver. It's probably the "official event" I'm most looking forward to this upcoming season, for those Puyallup rides and a return visit to Coaster.

Well now Greg... that's good to hear. I did hear something like that before. Glad you know the skinny. Maybe they can swing a day at Silverwood as an attachment. Granted, it is a long ways away from the other parks. You will get to witness the fun that is Coaster: Thrill Ride, and get to reinvite the carnage on Coaster. I still owe you and Corey $5 for owning my challenge. :( Damn coaster enthusiasts....

Still, If anyone cares, I will be going to Silverwood in April or May. Perhaps we can arrange something, eh? Some sort of get together using the meeting calendar? ;)

Maddie, maybe you and Ben can join my family on that particular jaunt? T'would be nice. :) BTW, you are still Nasai approved!

Um, Greg, Summer official ends on Sept 21 (or is it the 22nd? Or the 20th? lol) so they're right in calling it a Summer Con (if in fact it falls before that date).

So there! :-P

Joe, loves Silverwood but isn't too sad about this being cancelled, because I would have not gone either way :)

OMG I have a new sig!!!

I was looking forward to hitting CAC one of these days, but I guess I'll just have to "settle" for the Rob guided tour...

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Like that's a bad thing?

Come on people. I live in a beautiful place.... and the coasters here, although short on quantity are VERY high in quality.

Well, all except for Timber****: Ride of ****. ;)

Andy - Kevin said CAC would return, just not this year. But I bet a tour from Nasai would be fun, too.

The tentative dates for this event are September 10th,11th, and 12th, so Joe, you are correct as it will indeed happen in the Summer time frame.

They could do a spring event one of these years. I swear the Puyallup coaster runs better in the spring, and there are far less people around. That, and they always run the P&C trains. They don't always do it in September (basically, they run two trains in the fall, and there is no guarantee that you'll get the Yellow train, right Chris?).

Still, I understand their thinking, and the weather is a little more trusty in September. :)

It's gonna be fun!

Does anyone have any more info on the ACE event in May? I couldn't find anything on ACE's site or Silverwood's. I would deffinately like to go to this.

I'll be there in May, Frank. Just come up and hang out with my family and I. That'd be more fun anyway. ACErs are way overrated. ;)
