Love the 50s/60s-style architecture. Really well done.

It does look really nice and the price is pretty good. I don't think I could ever bring myself to stay there though. My wife and I tried to stay at the Hard Rock and had to switch to the Royal Pacific within a few hours of being there. :)

I love RPR. Best pool there. Cabana Bay means no free express passes, which is the big negative to me. Still, they're clearly trying to bring in some of the people staying down the street on I-Drive, and by extension get them hanging out on City Walk.

Depending on the time of year I think you can get by without the Express pass but no boat ride or pleasant walk to the parks is a deal breaker for us. When you're at RPR and choose the right tower it's like you're not even in Orlando.

I would like to know more about why you didn't want to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, 8.3.
