I was looking at the results at the buzz poll and was surprised to see what I saw. As we know steel phantom is being removed and it is made by arrow. Well what would make you think that arrow is going to build their next big coaster. If this coaster is to be a record breaker why would they sign with arrow. I personally voted for intamin. But arrow maybe if it was not a record breaker. I don't see parks going with arrow today for their record breakers.

Whose Line is it Anyway?
I think it illustrates what I've been saying all along... people don't have the slightest idea about what they're going to do!
Another Fart-In-A-Car/Those-Who-Don't-Know(TM) rumor!

I thought this was the thing that Arrow was gonna come back with. Ya know to get back into the business. They really have been "off" in the 90s.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!!
yeah way to many of those rumors.

I think it confirms the respect for Arrow that people have for them.
To be honest with you I picked Morgan.:)
I'm sorry but I just didn't feel MF lived up to expectations and as for B&M I feel their just a little over rated in the hyper catagory.:(
I don’t know what Kennywood is going to do, but I think an inverted coaster in the same location as Steel Phantom would make for a good ride. Having your feet hanging just above the ground as you fall into the ravine would be very exciting.
And Vern, how is MF not living up to expectations?
Yeah, what is wrong with MF? Also, although I pucked Arrow, B&M I think is a good chance. Maybe the hill won't be used.... I think Kennywood is gonna go for another flagship looping coaster. But none of us REALLY know. I think thath there next coaster is going to besomething none of us thought of....

Give Mean Streak a chance!
Here in the Pittsburgh area, TV stations are playing this Steel Phantom commerical non stop for the past 3 days. This is how the commerical goes (visually-wise):
[slow motion clips of Steel Phantom at sunset, or dusk] "Coming in 2001" [one more slow-motion clip of SP] "The Legend Lives On" [show Kennywood logo]
Did you catch it? It said "The Legend Lives On." SP will live on in the new coaster since parts of it will be used in the construction like the station, footers, chain, and possibly track. Also it has been reported on a website that Arrow people were seen in and around KW including handshakes and an exhange of a poster tube. Also here is a quote: "The new coaster will make the Steel Phantom a memory, Millennium Force nothing, and anything you have ever rode a kiddie ride. That is all I am going to say."

Personally I'd say Morgan has the best shot. I think that Steel Force proved that they can compete with B&M. Quite frankly, though I wouldn't want to try to second guess Harry Henninger. He must be absolutely beside himself. I think we all know how much free publicity this is generating.
If he had to buy it it would cost more than the coaster!
I wonder if Kennywood can really afford to build a ride bigger then MF? They don’t have the revenue of Cedar Point (smaller attendance, no resort income) or the backing of a big company (Six Flags, Paramount, etc.). I would be surprised if they built a recorded breaker. Maybe they are going to get something completely different, like an ArrowBatic (sp?).
No, they don't have quite as much revenue as CP, but almost every year, the Point spends about five times as much as Kennywood. All that money backs up. Also, the ravine cuts down on a lot of cash.
My vote was for Morgan.
I've seen the "Legend Lives On" commercial, it's a neat teaser. Doesn't really tell us much, but gets our interest.
I think we'll see the station get refinished and reused (and possibly relocated -- it IS the same station that Laser Loop used, but that's NOT where it stood when it was Laser Loop). Possibly some footers. MAYBE some support columns. I personally have serious doubts they'll reuse TRACK, though.
They DID reuse part of the Pippen layout when they rebuilt Thunderbolt, but wooden coasters are different, wood parts get replaced regularly anyway, Thunderbolt has no more actual Pippen wood in it now than Jackrabbit does ;) So while the "Laserbolt" (my working name for it) may use some of the PROFILE of Phantom, I expect it to have new TRACK (some of the Phantom's track looks pretty bad, I'd think Kennywood would rather just replace it)
