Moosh the difference with Blue Fall is that it also operates a "fake drop" sequence with some of the cars. On the "fake drop" side, riders fall about 10 feet, pause, and then the GIANT drop! It's a bit shocking, although I still preferred the regular normal drop.

Also, Tripsdrill in Germany has a really crazy drop tower. Read no further *spoiler alert* if you plan to visit in the future. It's a really REALLY well themed tower a bit like a farm treehouse with two short rows of stadium style seats. At the top, just before you drop, the seat carriage disengages from the tower and falls/tilts outwards away from the tower, then drops. Not easy to explain in words and sounds similar to SFOG's but vastly different and superior in my book. Might be a youtube vid of it, but I've no time to search for it right now.

Unless something has changed recently, the Intamin Free Falls used to have all the carriages released at the same time. When SFSTL installed the old AstroWorld ride they programmed the staggered drop sequence. That was the first time I ever saw a Free Fall not drop at the same time. I've ridden the ones at Kennywood, PGA, SFGAm, Canada's Wonderland, SFKK, AstroWorld, SFA, Elitch's, and SFSTL.

Here's a video of the one at Great America:

And here is Pitt Fall at Kennywood

Like I said, things may have changed, but I remember the cars dropping at the same time.

So is today's clue just a MAJOR red herring or a MAJOR clue? :)
I really think its a major clue. World's tallest what is now the question.

World's tallest (Deluge-style) water coaster with the longest drop?

I'm sticking with my guess: a shoot-the-chutes built in-house (or possibly teamed with Gravity Group) with a drop taller than 115', taking the "worlds tallest" record from Perlious Plunge. They could call it Pilgrim's Plunge or Plymouth Plunge.
^ Hopefully with a bunny hop at the bottom!

Gravy Boat.

(They gotta throw the enthusiasts a bone :) )

If it were not already taken I would vote for a Chutes themed to Boston Tea Party, comeplete with complimentary Lipton Brisk Ice Tea refills!

"Werne said besides a major new attraction, the park also plans to add “a service” in 2009 which will be innovative, free and use technology."

I think I have a pretty good idea about what the service is they are talking about. I saw a contractor with his companies logo shirt on the other day at Splashin Safari, and if that is that announcement it will be a welcome addition for families. Sorry to be so vague, but I would not want to steal thunder out from under HW. That is if what I saw is the "innovative, free and use technology" announcement.

Something like a wristband with a barcode that can be linked to a credit card, thus eliminating the need to carry cash at the waterpark?

^I was thinking more along the lines of GPS'ing your kid while in the park (to better track down lost parents) - but I like your idea better... ;)
^ I agree with your idea, Gator - I just saw an ad for this during the Olympics...

From all of the hints on their Blog I am taking a guess that it is a Mountain Glider by Doppelmayr. It is a Ropeway Glider style coaster with an elevator lift that looks wickedly awesome. One was built at Walibi Belgium but has had many technical issues. The funny thing is I posted this information to HoliBlog and the moderator has blocked it three times. I wonder why??? LOL

Here is a link to a promo video of the ride...

Maybe it is… maybe it isn’t… cant wait till Tuesday

One of Paula's blog comments was that the ride type had been around for a long time. How does that jive with a Mountain Glider?
Mountain Glider is a roller coaster with a lift, wheels, track and driven by gravity but done in a new way.
Not to mention, how does one sit "in the back" of a Mountain Glider?
That is a good point!
