Luna Park is rising - and taking the hopes of other Coney Island businesses with it. As the new 19-ride amusement park takes shape, business owners and Coney boosters are pinning their hopes on Zamperla's glitzy Luna Park to spark a revival across the faded seaside mecca.

Although the plans look glitzier than what was there before, it is a far cry from the original Luna park. It would have been nice if they could have budgeted a bit more for some nice victorian style buildings.

Considering that they are opening an entirely new amusement park in less then 3 months - (this includes all new electrical/water/sewage infrastructure)...it's pretty amazing what they are going to pull off. I would guess that a lot of additional cosmetic touches will be added for 2011.
