Bushkill Park Status?

Haven't heard much of anything about the park since its flooding. Has the park reopened or is it still a mess? Does it plan on opening this year?

We stopped by the park on saturday and it wasn't open. It looked like a lot of work has been done, but it still needed quite a bit more done. It was late afternoon and there wasn't anybody around. They did have a Volunteers Needed sign up. I really hope they do get the park open.

And what's left of Dennis is eventually headed that way...let's hope they don't get flooded again!
Not sure what "Dennis" will bring to PA, so far they're saying the storm will stall west of us. One big difference between this year and last is that it's been relatively dry (normal) in May and June, so the river and creek levels are down to where they'd normally be in July.

Ivan hit last year after an extremely wet summer-- actually an extremely wet 2 years, so the rivers and water tables were pretty high before the storm. There really was nowhere for the rain from that storm to go. We just got 2-3 inches from the remains of Cindy, and there didn't seem to be much ruckus over that. The streams are already down pretty far again.

Wow! Bushkill Park! When I saw this thread I thought it would be perfect for my first post on Coasterbuzz. Bushkill was my first park and my first coaster, The Wild Mouse! Scared the crap out of me back then. Love to ride it now.

I've always been a coaster lover but recently found the Florida Coaster Club at the fair and we signed up that night. That's what led me to this sight and I never thought I would see Bushkill Park mentioned.

Bushkill was great for a kid in the 60's. The Pretzle House, the Whip and grabbing 1, 2, 3 rings if you were good, on the Merry-Go-Round, (I was too young then to call it a carousel), looking in those funny mirrors before sliding down the big wooden slide on your way to the Barl-O-Fun! Was it just me or did the Clown in the front window creep you out too? I swear it looked at me!

I grew up about 3 or so miles from Bushkill in Forks Township. I spent many weekend days there in the summer. Had a birthday skating party in the rink. Watched my Grandfather pull in the winning fish in the annual Mothers Day fishing tournament, only to be on another kids line! I'd still give anything to have just one more day with him in the park.

Thanks for letting me ramble! See you in line for the Wild Mouse!!
