Here's the storySounds a lot like the CLP story - unfortunate circumstances, financial troubles, inside bickering.

Sad indeed. They just spent a handful of cash buying up the old Nellie Bly Park (New York) rides, too.

Don't you just hate it when companies hold you responsible for paying your bills? That seems so un-American. ;) *** Edited 5/31/2007 11:41:07 PM UTC by sws***

That would be a shame if the park never reopened. The funhouse alone is reason enough for someone to try to keep the place operating.

That sucks. I liked visiting that park when I lived in Philly. ANY park that has to struggle or close is upsetting. :(

I drove by a sign for Bushkill a couple years ago, woulda stopped if I hadn't agreed to meet *someone* at Knoebel's. And he ended up being late, something about "Ka's re-opening today, I'll get to KG as soon as I can". Darn that Coastin' Steve... ;)

And yet Nellie Bly is still going, but Bushkill isn't. I hate to hear news like this about the park, especially because I volunteered some of my time to help clean up the place after the flood rendered it useless. It looked like it had the ingredients to make an excellent small park and I'm really pissed I never visited the park before it all got washed away.
