I was at BGT the second Thursday in September and it appears BGT has adopted the Six Flags ride ops procedures. On the day I visited BGT attendance was very high but each coaster was running only one train. All the coaster ride ops crews were in super slow motion work mode. When I rode Montu ride ops forgot to do the safety checks on the seats in the row I was seated. As usual, only one side of Gwazi was open. The line to ride Gwazi was out to the main walkway. Back in September of 2001 I was at SFMM and all the coasters were open with the exception of “X”. On the day I was at SFMM the lines were a minimum 30 minutes but they would only load half a train. With the direction BGT is heading, I wouldn’t be surprise if they also adopt the SFMM ride ops procedures. What ever happened to providing a great guest experience?
Last time I went to BGT and Gwazi was not dueling, I asked a ride op why and he gave me something about the fact that the park wasn't crowded and on the weekends they make them duel. The park however, did seem crowded to me and his response sounded like a just-leave-me-alone-you-damn-tourist kind of response, not to jump on the staff though, they really do a good job on other rides I think.
Haux: I actually had different expereinces on both Montu and Goliath. When I rode Montu (Spring 02), the MCBR was barely tapping and it was quite intense through the last half of the course. When I rode Goliath last Xmas, the park was empty and it was running two trains (with a walk-on I might add). Don't know if it was the blocking, but the MCBR was barely tapping as well. The helix was brutal (in a good way :)).
