Busch Gardens Tampa Focus Groups

Please forgive me for the second BGT topic, but I was wondering if any of you have participated in their marketing focus groups.

If you haven't, I would really suggest it. For trying some new drink ideas and giving my opinion on how they would market these drinks, (a little over an hour total), I got $75 in Adventure Cash. That bought dinner for the family, lunch the next day, and a few souvenirs. And the hour was made up easily by upgrading our tickets to season passes. (The price to upgrade three tickets was less than the price of the dinner, so we came out in the black).

From what I hear, different focus groups will have different levels of compensation. But I think it was cool that I got free food and souvenirs for trying new drink formulas! If you are at the park, I would suggest trying to get into one of the focus groups, as they do compensate you well for your time.

Now if only the compensation included front of the line passes...

How do you participate?

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

A lot of parks have them. People just walk around and randomly (well, they probably have specific demographic targets) select people and aske them to participate in their study. You can usualy score some in-park currency (like the Adventure Cash) plus, like in this case, free food!

I've done this at school a few times. College kids can't help but take advantage of getting 50-100 bucks for 2 hours.

I've been polled a few times (like zip code and what parks do you plan to visit) but never in a focus group.. sound cool

Edit... maybe if I look at what I type I would see that I am a jack*** and didtn't type what I was thinking! sorry lol *** Edited 4/24/2005 7:58:21 PM UTC by Earnhardt2***

^? That made no sense whatsoever.

As for the topic at hand, that sounds kind of cool. If it was a place I had plenty of time to spare or visit often, I'd be glad to try something like this.
