Busch Gardens Tampa announces Falcon's Fury drop tower

Posted | Contributed by VitaminsAndGravy

Theme-park guests will fall more than 300 feet, face first, at 60 miles per hour when Busch Gardens Tampa Bay opens Falcon's Fury in spring 2014. Falcon's Fury will be more than 100 feet taller than SheiKra, Busch Gardens' highest roller coaster at 200 feet tall. It will be taller than every Central Florida attraction.

While some joker ride op sings "rock a bye baby" over the speaker placed at the top of the tower.

"when the bough breaks the cradle will faaaaaaaaaaaaaall..."

From what I can tell this ride will feature an actual seat? Let's hope.

Funny, this just appeared in the Rollback as "one year from today" -

Thought I'd just give it a *bump* and see if anyone wants to wager that we can come back to this thread at the same time next year to see if it's operating yet... ;~)

...and to think I moved to FL 30 years ago anticipating that the ride would open on time...

I'm just glad that I had the foresight to book my vacation to Pennsylvania in 2006 for the grand opening of Flying Turns.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm still waiting to cash in my airline credit for my cancelled trip to Orphan Rocker.
