Busch Gardens Tampa 02/02/01

Decided to take the trip from Orlando to Busch Gardens on our last day of our 3 day Florida trip (Did IOA first day, Discovery Cove and Seaworld the 2nd day). Drive into Tampa uneventful. Not too impressed with the part of town we saw--reminded me of Flint, MI where I work :(
It was about 10am when we arrived at the park. Temp was in the 60's but got cooler as the day went on. Parked right by Montu--wow! That coaster looks great! Tried to not get too excited since Fiance is big and can't fit into B & M's (except the ones with the "special seats") and we knew Montu wasn't too new so it wouldn't have the special seats.
Went right to Gwazi when we got there. Ride was a walk on and we rode the Tiger side two times without getting off coaster :) Gwazi was a good wooden twister. We decided to save the lion side 'til later.
I wanted to try out Montu so we walked over to the Egypt area and fiance waited while I rode. SInce there was no wait, I told him to try out the seats to see if he would fit. But he didn't :( SO I rode again alone :) I LOVE this coaster! Even better than Raptor (which I love) and I am not sure if I like it better than Dueling Dragons or not (just because DD has those cool near-misses).
We then went on the skyride to the back of the park. Saw the constuction of Rhino Rally from above--that ride looks like it is going to be good. Looked like it will be jeeps on a track that goes in the water and winds around rocks, etc. Supposed to be open this spring.
At the back of the park we decided to try Kumba. Great ride! Very smooth! It had the special seats for Fiance. I thought this ride was built in 98 or 99 so I had expected it to have the bigger seats. It seems strange that after trying to fit in the other rows, why didn't the ride ops direct your fiance to the row with more room? You were lucky to have found them on your own, if you didn't know where to look. Montu looks so good, I wish my near future plans included a Florida trip.

What exactly are B&M's "big" seats, and what do they look like? I was on Kumba and DD last month and rode just about every seat in each but didn't notice any difference among them. Are they adjustable or something?
I loved Montu too. When I was there last August I rode it til I walked funny ... Definitely in my top 10 but better than the Dragons, I don't know. I love all three equally I think.
Like you, my BGT experience makes me want to get BGW in the near future but Deja Vu, X and DCA are calling me to LA ... Time to see my Bank Manager, me thinks!
