Busch Gardens 2002, here I come.

This is more of a personal "cool" thought than anything.  I'm a 2LT in the Army, and I just got my branch...Transportation Corps.  Therefore, my Officer Basic Course will be at Ft. Eustis, VA, only 17 miles from BGW!  Since I've never been there, this should be great!  I'll be getting a season pass, and should be riding those rides for all they're worth for the 2 months that I'm there that BGW is open.

That's a nice position to be in. I wish I was closer! My wife and I bought platinum passes, good for two seasons at all of the Busch parks. Been to three of them so far, and plan on doing the same next year, so it was worth it!

Get all of the Apollo rides you can get, and be sure to catch the shows (and adult beverages)!

I had my first visit to BGW this year, and I've been to BGT about a dozen times. Absolutely first rate parks. For some reason, Apollo doesn't seem to have lines nearly the length of Alpengeist. I was able to ride AC 12 times in one day and never waited longer than 10 minutes, whereas I only got 3 rides on Alpie, and waited at least 30 min per (1 1/2 hours for front). You lucky devil!

That's because Alpengeist has had some pretty bad crews the last two years. Both times I've been there the three trains were stacked constantly. Dispatches were four minutes apart.

I don't know for sure, but an older guy at the controls seemed to be the crew leader on Apollo the last two years. He does the spiel very clearly and he's like a father figure up there. That crew checked nine rows very quickly and there was almost no stack action. Granted, it helps to have that long brake run and ready area.

I have noticed the same thing with Batman:TR @ SFMM and Raptor@CP. The lines on these (B&M inverts) tend to "take" longer, but Im not so sure they are actually that much longer. The ride capacity is quite good, but I too cant understand the extra waits.

Yeah I agree the crew on apollo is very efficent the only times I have seen stacking on that ride was when some one ahd trouble locking the lapbar or couldt fit so they had to let them out and do all that. I too have noticed the dispatches on alpie are kinda slugish. perhap some whipping needs to take place!

I was on the Apollo crew for the last two years and will be there next year two.
Actually...I just found out that I won't be going until June, so I'll have the entire summer to go, instead of just the two months at the beginning of the season.  I guess that's good.
