Busch Gardens 10/10 and 10/12

Associated parks:
None

I headed out to Busch this weekend for my yearly October trip. We arrived on Friday around 4pm and checked into our hotel. Weather was rainy all day. We went to the park around 5:30. It stopped raining and we had the park all to ourselves.

Hotel-Clarion Conference Center. Please is a **** hole and is poorly run. My room was dirty and I didn't like it. I give it a 4 out of 10.

Alphengiest- Rode it 4 times. Once in the front and 3 times in the back. Anyone ever notice the G-force meters on the coaster trains in the second to last row? I give the snow beast a 9 out of 10.

Big Bad Wolf- I just can't get over how good this coaster is. Built in 84' and its still tearing it up. I rode 3 times. Once in the front and twice in the back. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Apollo Chariot- The front is the only way to go on this god! 9 out of 10.

Loch Ness Monster- Nessy was running smooth on this night. I rode in the front twice. Got to love it. 7 out of 10.

Wilde Maus was closed.

Haunted Light house- This was really really bad. Cheesy. I was very let down. She was trying to like mission impossible it and the acting was horrible. 5 out of 10.

Corkscrew Hill-Love it!! 8 out of 10.

Onto the haunted stuff.

Sleepless Hallow Mansion- Pretty cool. They had it in the Drachen Fire station house. Wasn't too scary but was really put together well. 7 out of 10

The clown haunted house. I can't remember the name it was in Roman Rapids area. Was decent! No scary at all. Some funny and clever stuff is waiting in there for you.7 out of 10

Haunted Train ride- This just sucked. It was horrible. The audio was all messed up. But even then it wasn't good. 4 out of 10

Pompeii Haunted House. Very well done. Very dark and lots of people around. 9 out of 10.

Sea Dog Cemetery- They got me in this one. Dead chick was hiding and I didn't see her and she popped out. :>( I jumped. Oh well. 7 out of 10.

I forgot to add my sunday trip to this report. The park was packed. They had the over flow lots in front of the Bud Plant full. Everything had atleast an hour wait or more. The line for the haunted train went all the way over the covered bridge and into alphengiest area. It was really insane. I got to ride everything once.

Crash - was the 3-D effect working for you on Corkscrew Hill? It didn't seem to be working for anyone when I went on the 5th. I actually enjoyed Haunted Lighthouse more, if only for the famous cast.

Couldn't agree more about Big Bad Wolf. And I didn't notice G-meters on Alpengeist since I only rode front row, but I did notice them on Apollo. I wonder why they added them...

Ask about my references!

Yes the 3d effects were working on CorkScrew. Screamscape reported they were going to make a movie out of this. I think that be kind of rad if they did. I was hoping that they would remodel the global theater to make the entrance for the haunted light house alot better. They didn't.

Where are the g-force meters on Apollos? I sat in the first 2 rows. No idea why they added them, but they are fun to watch.

Was trappers smoke house packed when you went? Everytime I walked passed it, even at 9pm it had a line with like 50 people in it.

I'm going the 24th of this month. I'm hope the lines wont be to bad. I'm really excited about the halloween things I hope they are good. Any tips on what to do first.
Well, I got to go to the park when it was empty and I was free to do whatever I wanted. If the train ride is a walk on go for it. But honestly don't wait more than 15 mins for it. It was really really really really bad. The Sleepless Hollow Mansion was cool. I head to that first. Its fright next to the Festhaus using the old Drachen Fire station. It was cool. I'd then head to the Pompeii. That was dope and moves really quick. If you do stuff before it gets really dark the lines will be light and not many people. Do the Sea Dog at night. Also I have passes left over. 2 of them to be exact. Intrested in buying them? Email me I'll give you a great deal!!

I would go to the park early and leave around lunch time and come back at 4:30ish and stay till close. Lot less crowded. Pay the extra $4 and get reserved parking!

If you more intrested in the coasters then the haunted stuff. Head to Alp and then Wolf first. Then dash to Apollos and Nessy. Good luck and have fun. Let me know about the passes.

Thanks,

Dug
