Building Coasters Underground?

I love the idea of the new Coaster Editing Screen but, does anyone know if you will still be able to construct the coaster directly on-site in RCT2? I'm assuming you can and does that mean you can still have the track pass through hills, ground, etc. It would be a BIG DISSADVANTAGE if this has changed, though I doubt it. Can anybody address this definitively?

I have no clue, but here's my guess. I think you would have to still be able to build a coaster 'on site'. How else could you build a terrain coaster. I'm guessing that the game play will be almost identical to the original only with minor changes. I guess we'll all have to wait till mid October to find out for sure.

When placing rides (flat rides, stalls, pre-build coasters), you can control the "height" you place them at by holding the shift key and scrolling up and down. Presumably, if the land were right (as in, had vertical faces in the right places), you could place a coaster so that it had tunnels and stuff, without having to "go back and put them in". Also, you could place the entire ride underground this way (same with flat rides and stalls!). You can also build tunnels onto the track (like Magnum) and save that sort of theming with the ride itself.

In short, I know no details, but it's bound to be way better than what we have in RCT1.

Yes you will be able to build coasters directly on site in rct2. In the IGN review it said that the coaster editor was there to build coasters to import into the game without worrying about how much money it costs. but it also said you can still build coasters the old way too. Personally i prefer the old way of building rides to the new coaster editor.

Have you ever been to SFGAm and seen Deja Vu closed? If you have then go again and it WILL BE DEJA VU!

Sorry I couldn't hear you, The voices in my head are drowning you out.

Thanks SFGAm Man, that's good to hear. I actually prefer the idea of site-built or "terrain" built coasters as well. I think it's a fantastic idea to include the coaster designing screen as another option to the game. How can RCT2 turn out to be anything other than brilliant... Comeon October!
