Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack opens today at PKI

Paramount's Kings Island is opening the Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack, inspired by Paramount's "Forest Gump" film. According to a news release, the seafood restaurant is designed with a 1970s coastal eatery feel, with retro signs, scenic murals and nautical memorabilia. Out back is Lieutenant Dan's Bar, which serves up margaritas and Louisiana lemonade, along with a variety of beers.

I ate at Bubba Gump's last night and the food was great. The park did a wonderful job with the themeing of the restruant. The mix of bold colors and painted "old-ness" mix great and just give an overall eye appealing view.

The bar area is very nice. I can see spending some quality time there on my next visit! (Only after riding Delirium, mind you.)

I haven't gotten the chance to eat there yet but it looks nice with the pond behind it. It will brighten up the area around it.

Why is this news? Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack is a chain resturant! There are fifteen other locations... it would be the same as "Six Flags Great America adds McDonalds to world-class food lineup." We'd never see that, so why this?

This is news because they made some changes to the food selection at the park. Please understand that this is my home park and food selection has not been up to par the past few years. They have added subway as well to the food lineup.

InsaneNewman: Well....there is the slight difference between fifteen restaurants and fifteen bazillion, wouldn't you say? People make a lot of noise over Hard Rock Cafe openings and there are far, far more of them.
