Bronfman gathers investors to regain control of Universal entertainment properties

Edgar Bronfman Jr. has lined up a team of investors in his quest to regain the entertainment assets of Vivendi Universal, executives close to the group said yesterday. The consortium, they said, includes the Blackstone Group, which already owns 50 percent of Vivendi's theme park business, as well as Thomas H. Lee Partners. Bronfman's group also includes Cablevision, Merrill Lynch and Wachovia Securities.

Even if they are a "silent" partner, the thought of Cablevision being involved in this in any way, shape or form still send shivers down my spine. Can't there be ANYONE else instead of them!?!??!
