High End Systems, which manufactured and installed the lighting for Cedar Point's Millennium Force, has posted an article to their site describing the use of their products in the application. They mention that the park intends to light the ride in the off season for the holidays.
More technical information and photos are available on High End Systems site.

The lighting looked great in person and is just as good looking as the lighting on Power Tower.
What an odd shaped Christmas Tree!
:D very funny guys!!! I think its green lights will compliment Corkscrew's red ones!

Who will be looking at the lights in the off-season. If you ask me I think they could spent money on other important things. Sure, the lighting is great when you're at the park. What a waste.
The lights on Millennium Force's supports are simply one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. From sitting on benches near the two tunnels, just looking up, it's just breathtaking. I can't explain it.
With the Summer Spectacular going on in the background, it was fairly loud while myself and 2 friends were sitting there. I leaned over and said, "I wonder what that looks like from the causeway." About a minute later, the person I just said that to said to me, "Boy, I wonder what that looks like from the causeway." I laughed and explained to him that I just said that, and apparenly he didn't hear me...
...and then the third member of our party stunned us both by saying the profound and groundbreaking statement, "I wonder what that looks like from the causeway."

It's great that they're doing that for the off season. I remember going there for Labor Day, and eating at a resturant by the lake, and we had a windo view, and all I saw was millennium force's red, blue, and yellow lights. A nice site.
I wish Dorney would get that cool lighting for Steel Force as well. The point is just too far for me to drive more than once a year. Plus you can see Steel Force perfectly on I-78 it would probably cause a few wrecks if it would be lighted though.

Someone asked who would be looking at the lights in the off-season...someone who, I suspect, hasn't seen the ride in person. I say that because from inside the park there are very few places where you can actually see the lighting on the ride. But from across Sandusky Bay you can get a really good view.
