Even Lake Winnie had a brawl. Of course that park was smart and later instituted a rule that anyone under 21 had to chaperoned by an adult.

They were probably just pissed that their park hasn't gotten a new coaster since Serial Thriller.
When was that coaster installed?
^LOL Olsor

It's sad that people do stupid things like this, especially in places where people are trying to have fun and be happy:O)

Yes this shows those people who said/and or made it seam like SFMM was the only place capable of this nonsense see that this crap can happen anywhere.

I can see the news flash now if this ever happens at CP..........

BREAKING NEWS......... Hundreds of people found dead! Hunched over there computers. It appears the victims suffered from severe shock, detectives are investigating the causes of these mysterious deaths. The only leads they have so far is a website that was found on the screens of all the victims. It appeared to be a popular website among the coaster enthuiast community that goes by the name Coasterbuzz. All the victims appeard to have been logged into this popular internet website and investigators say they are focused on one paticular topic. The topic the investors are questioning went by the title "Brawl breaks out at Cedar Point". Investigators said they believe this topic is what caused the severe shock in all of the victims and was the leading cause to these hundreds of mysterious deaths.......................More on this story as developments come in...........Will be right back after this short commercial break:O)~*** This post was edited by westcoaster man 7/5/2005 5:53:10 PM ****** This post was edited by westcoaster man 7/5/2005 5:54:11 PM ***

It's actually a media play! The fight was in the parking lot not owned by SF's, then moved about a half mile down the street. I have not seen any local media actually report the gang members where even ever in the park itself!

Might have been but they did not say that!

Anyone on this board should know to stay far away from an amusement park on any holiday! Too many people and heat just don't mix well anywhere! It was damn hot here yesterday!

Both the CBS and ABC affiliates reported in the morning news programs that the fight started within SFAW. I don't know if it did or didn't but the fact is this is the 3rd or 4th year in a row that this type of incident has happened on the 4th.This was the reason the park closed at 8:00PM and did not schedule fireworks. Unfortunatly this seems to be a yearly event for local gangs. No matter where it started, the perception is it starterd at SFAW and moved outside the gates. Every single news report about this event mentions SFAW.I do not think this is SFAW's fault, but it is their problem. They need to try something else to fix this. Closing early didn't work. Its going to take a lot of cooperation from the park and Houston police to make sure this doesn't happen again next 4th of July.

I totally agree Cynic.

It's a sad time we live in when you can't even go to events on holidays without some jerks ruining it.

That's another reason I didnt get a season pass this year. SFAW just got too ghetto for me. I'd get accosted by some guy for wearing a bandana because I happen to think Im a pirate. Then they laugh at me when I say that. But I do hope they can figure out a way to stop this from happening next year. It's just ridiculous.
I think it does say something that these fights seem to happen only at SF parks (lake winnie being an exception). Could it be that even with all the fancy show they put on at the front gate, that they dont have to muscle inside the park to back it up. KBF serves the same market as SFMM but never has brawls, could it be that CF runs a tighter security force inside the park?
Fights happen at all parks even CF parks it's unavoidable. CF just does a better job at keeping it quiet. When you get thousands of people in a park on a hot day with line cutting and alcohol being served it could happen anywhere.

I knew this would happen at SF parks. You see up to 2004 what is now Geauga Lake was a Six Flags park. The Six Flags Company SUCKS as far as Management goes. Former Six Flags employees were coming in for orientation and had to be told that having your pants around your a** and your shirt untucked was unacceptable and against Cedar Fair's Dress Code. Other rules added by CF were: No cell phones in plain view or ON while you are on duty. No headphones, boom boxes, MP3's, or any other distractions while on duty. No Faddish Hair Styles, No Exposed Tattoos, Men could Not wear earrings. No excessive body piercing, ECT. When families went to Geauga Lake last year and when Six Flags owned the park they did not like the environment of the park. The Quote from most families. "We thought that we were in the Twilight Zone. We started into an amusement park and were transported into a Cleveland Hood (Eastside) with gang bangers and colors on display." Well thank God now you don't feel like you are in "THE HOOD" when you enter the park. If Six Flags does not fix the bad dress, attitude, and security of their parks, more violence will occur.*** This post was edited by 7/6/2005 6:31:35 PM ****** This post was edited by 7/6/2005 6:34:07 PM ***

Rigggggggggggggggggght.

Riots only happen in the Hood amidst 'gangbangers.'

College-educated 'better' kids never do that.

Never. Ever. Ever.

WRONG.

Madison Wisconsin. Small, 83% White college town had a RIOT--not a brawl, a RIOT--in 2002. Read the article. Look at that gangbanger taunting the cops or this guy kicking in a liquor store window. Why aren't his pants sagging?

And oh yeah-- before you start to whine it's an isolated incident choke on the truth just a little more. 445 people - not three, not eleven - over FOUR HUNDRED were arrested this past Halloween. Perhaps a third were from an adjoining 83% Caucasian state. That makes the third violent year in a row for rowdy, drunken, stupid out-of-control college kids that don't fit your idea of a rioter.

Go peel your race and education stereotypes from this thread and take them back home with you. It. Happens. Everywhere.

The End.

Looks like soccer dudes to me Playa, and we all know how soccer dude likes to roll ;) .

Anyhow, someone said, "No Faddish Hair Styles", what in the world does that mean? Aren't all hair-styles faddish? I'm going to guess this is a "if they don't like how you look then out you go" rule...if this is even true, no?
