Brakes on Shivering Timbers?

My friend was watching some of those TV shows yesterday and told me that he think he saw new brakes on the flat section by the turnaround. Can anyone confirm what's on that flat section? Do I need to worry about my #1 woodire turning into a forceless family ride like Wild Thing & High Roller? OK maybe HR isn't quite forceless but still a little weaken but WT there is definately a change to almost a forceless ride during the last half. I hope ST never gets tamed down. Dick Kinzel said a few years back that he'd NEVER add brakes to ST. Let's hope he sticks to his word. At least he LOVES airtime. He told me personally on my last (but hope to return to CP very soon!!) visit to CP.

For one, that footage was circa 2000.

As of 5/23, the only thing in the flat stretch is wood.

The only brakes on ST are after the helix...on the brake run.

Realistically there really would be no point to add a mid-course break on ST. However there is a spot that they could. I don't believe that the final break run is long enough to support 2 trains on it so what would happen is a train would stop at the MCBR every single time. And if it did not there is a high probability for a collision. And too top it off with as quickly as those trains run that course by the time they dispatch a train the previous one is usually in the helix already if not on the final breaks.

Brakes aren't always MCBR's. They could just be trims (if they were there).

Although some say CF is trim happy, you won't be seeing breaks on the Timbers; Mrs. Wintherow said it herself back when CF got the park.

I play in a really awful garage band, but it's still fun.

I should clarify that my friend think there may be brakes on the flat section. How he described it was that there was something dark so it could be a sensor or somthing else. He was just guessing there may be brakes (not breaks) there.
