Boring year at Gadv - CoasterBuzz

Well, i've been searching and calling places all week and it seems that Gadv isn't doing anything this year. As Gadv.com is on hiatus, i'm not sure what might be going on directly at the park but ever staff person i've spoken to at the park says nothing is going on and the park mentioned light repairs and that's it. SO, i guess i'll be traveling to Hersey and Dorney this year... Maybe a random trip to SFMM will go down as well.

And after getting a B&M Flyer last year taking a year off is bad how?

If GAdv gets Batman side of Chilla up and running, locals should have NO complaints...."flats out, flats in" is a wash IMO, but the Chilla, that's something SPECIAL....:)

A new stunt show is in the works. And some general maintenance wouldn't hurt. They are saving up so next off season they can buy that new woodie and call it the Jersey Devil!! Wooohoo!! the park does need some work and Batman is begging for a pain job. Some gardens need to be spruced up and some line q repairs need to be done.

Sorry--guess I caught another board's virus for a second *cough*. Anyway, Chitown, you should have more sympathy as a person living by a park that got a flyer and is still getting four new rides this year. Just cuz my local parks will be spouting new coasters three years in a row (VF/KCS-MOA/Big Chief) do you hear me laughing out loud at other people? Nope. I just do it when they're not looking. :P

That is just nuts. It is that kind of thinking that keeps parks from making serious investments. If I were SFGAdv and you were my guest, why would I want to spend $15 million on a new coaster when all it will do is bring you to my park for one year?

Poor wood coaster selection aside, I think that SFGAdv was one hell of a good coaster collection. Four B&M coasters- none of which can be considered a "loser", a launched coaster with two separate tracks and a pretty cool in-the-dark coaster... that's not anything to laugh at. Good thing that you won't be there... one less person for me to wait behind as I enjoy Nitro, which is my all-time favorite steel coaster.

I hold my head in shame.

Playa has shown me the way. :)

Too bad, because if Nitro weren't there, I think that Batman would look awesome in yellow! I think that SFOT's version is one of the coolest-looking B&Ms just because of its paint job.

It appears after what was said at NCC, SFGAm's Batman will be sporting the SFOT Batman colors.

Especially when both are inverted-style coasters.

Doesn't Medusa have a similar paint scheme to most of the newer BTR's(excluding SFOT's & SFNO's) of course?

With that in mind it's probably the reason why they're using SFOT's dark blue support colors instead of purple,which is what most of the others have been getting lately.

As for not getting new rides this year I wouldn't complain too much(if I had SFGRADV as a home park) because you guys have quite a decent selection of coasters & flats compared to others out there.

Let's look at things this way: every so often there is the off year,sure we would like to have new rides being built every season but right now SFI just can't afford to do it & instead of complaining about it we should all enjoy what we have already got.

You've just gotten a new B&M flyer for 03,(while some of us have been waiting since 01 & still are for a new coaster)so just enjoy that for now until the next major ride comes along....my home park isn't getting anything this year but I'm still planning on visiting this season to enjoy the stuff we did get last year as well as to see some of the older rides getting fixed up so they'll be able to operate during the 04 season.

Kraxleridah - Huh? Last time I checked, Nitro was a hyper ;)

Antuan and Rob - It actually looks pretty good! Both rides compliment each other really well now.
