BORG Trains on track

Just wanted to let you guys known that BORG trains are on track and station is up. The station looks exactly like Stealth's and the trains, well I couldn't really tell. Carowindsconnection.com has pics. Does anyone know for sure if the trains are new or what. They look nice, but do they have the spring-loaded wheels (pleeeeease!)?
The trains appear to be exactly the same as those that were on Stealth...the body design of the trains used on Batwing/X-Flight are slightly different.

Also from what I could tell by the pics seen yesterday is that Borg's trains don't have the onboard computer system that the new trains used on the other two have, this could actually mean reduced downtime for Borg though because most of Batwing's shutdowns are caused by those pesky little computers messing up all the time.

It's a classic example of if one little thing doesn't compute properly then the whole darn thing doesn't work & it's frustrating to both the guests as well as maintenance & operations personel who have to deal with the problems on a daily basis.

At CCC they told us that the trains would be undergoing some modifications and I can't remember if this was said there or online but I was under the impression that the spring-loaded wheel assemblies and an updated loading procedure would be brought to Carowinds. Not quite sure what that means but that's what they said.
Hope they got those trains wrapped up nice and tight.... Charlotte just got walloped with about 7 or 8 inches of snow within the past 5 or 6 hours.

"The mourning period is over and the only silver lining is that George W Bush is now prohibited by law to run again" Well, at least we have a silver lining
From all of the pictures that I've seen, it appears that the ride will have the same loading procedure as it did at Great America. Hopefully, the rumors about the new wheel assembly are true as that would definitely improve the ride.
The trains were refurbished by Premier. It was my understanding that Vekoma was not very happy with Paramount for outsourcing the modifications to Premier though.
The trains still look the same as they were from PGA to me. If they planned on some modifications, I'm curious to know what they were or will be. I will also go on to say that the location of the ride at Carowinds looks to be much better than it was over at PGA.
So, it has been said that we have the same station and identical trains as the original Stealth. Looking at the construction photos, it seems that the only thing that is really setting Borg apart from Stealth is the water/landscaping and a sphere. I can't wait until opening day to read everyone's opinion about the finished theming.

If Premier rides was able to modify the trains for Borg than maybe SF would consider contracting them to do the same for Batwing & X-Flight.

Premier did work wonders for the most part on the LIM coaster train conversions & I'm sure SF is pleased with them for that but then again that was done for rides that premier engineered themselves to begin with.

is BORG going to be open on opening day??
Yes, it should be open on March 20th (opening day). They started testing the trains last week.
I wonder if the park has considered dying the water underneath the ride green and shining some green lights on the ride at night. That would look AWESOME in the middle of the park.

Dying the water green sounds like the worst idea I've ever heard.

Why, a green foggy ambience around the ride would look kickass, look at Goliath at SFH. Also, please don't just shoot down ideas like that, give some explanation.
Why ruin a perfectly beautiful setting by turning it vomit green? Isn't the ride ugly enough for you?

-Nate

Nate seems to make lots of post like that, don't have any hard feelings RollrCoastrCrazy.

I think the ride looks so-so, but I agree that some fog would spice it up. :)

Yeah I think some fog and creepy music would make the whole area really cool, maybe some gurgling water. Make it suspenseful in the line.
Tim,

The only problem I see w/ green water is green ducks... the island and former lake was home to atleast twenty ducks and geese... it would be sad to see them meet the same fate as the radioactive fish under the walkway between Nickelodeon Zone and RFD... disturbing really... (quivers)

Yes we did and it's still coming. It's an amazing site looking out my window. I haven't seen anything like this in Charlotte in 20 years.

Rollrcoastercrazy the water at Carowinds and many other parks for that matter is ussually green anyway without dye.

The nice natuaral landscaping also doesn't go with the theme with the possible exception that you could save the island was assimilated into the ride when it was flattened.

Of course it makes no sense to complain. the parks will do what they want evEn if we don't like it. After all....

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

Not to mention it's already done. I'm excited, I'll get assimilated in May, I'm excited. I think the sphere and theming will be just enough to make this a fun ride, and If they do a decent job on the trains making them smooth, I'll be so very happy.
