Fire crews were called to the Tidal Wave roller coaster to find three injured kids, complaining of back and neck injuries. The ride was not stuck in any way. The ride remains closed for investigation.
Read more from The Baltimore Sun.
We all knew this day was coming. The Boomerang uprising is upon us. Everyone put on their neck braces and ready your weapons, and God help us all.
Very confusing story. Fire dept says no fire, but the state regulators say a mechanical failure caused a fire. In either case the kids had non-fire related injuries.
I think I am going to stay off Boomers for a while.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
I rode Tidal Wave two years ago, and loved it (and I'm not a Booomerang fan). Hope it's back up for my Ocean City/Trimpers trip next weekend.

Back/neck pains on a boomerang... business as usual
Sounds about right. Sit in the back seat and tell me how your back/neck does through that friggin' loop.
Interested to see what happened...

LOL, Our last trip was 800 miles in one day. The trip before that was 2600 miles. So no, I don't avoid driving.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
So you still drive despite the fact that accidents involving cars vastly outnumbers accidents on roller coasters, and yet you claim you'll stay away from Trimpers?
Yeah, that makes sense.... :)
^ Always hear the same thing after a plane crash. Don't get the logic on it. Factor in that Boomerangs are the most cloned coasters out there. There's over 40 of them operating with several hundred riders per hour, chances are pretty good you'll pull through. :)
Unless there is an actual Maximum Overdrive style Boomerang revolt happeninging...
Let's be fair to Dave, Moosh; comparing the frequency of driving a car to riding Boomerangs is like comparing breathing to taking a poo. (everyone knows we all do it, but we'd never survive if we did it all the time)
But following my parallel of analogies, I sure hope no one rides boomerangs as much as they take a poo.... unless there's a correlation there!
Maybe he poos differently? Perhaps not sitting down? That would really mess with the old saying. :)

I agree that Boomerangs are comparable to poo.
Which could lead us into a "which coaster would you most like to flush down the toilet?" thread....
And thus another thread goes straight down the donniker...
