Bonfante gardens to open with new management and money

Bonfante Gardens will open this year with a new general manager and a focus on smooth operations. In its first year in 2001, the park the struggled financially as construction costs exceeded expectations. Through private financing, the owner (a local grocery store tycoon) was able to continue operation into 2002. The park is a mix of rides and botanical attractions.

This is all good news. The park has placed TV ads as a friend of mine in San Francisco saw them. I definitely plan on visiting the park this year...it is BY FAR the most beautiful park I've ever been to [yes, I have been to BGW] and their Quicksilver Express is one of the best mine train coasters around. If you're visiting PGA, SFMW, or SCBB take the time to visit Bonfante as well ;-)

Great! It's on my list of Cali parks to hit, and this news is definitely comforting. Every photo I see of this place gets better and better, revealing a truly special park experience. To know that it was designed by the man behind the Marriott parks' layouts adds some uniqueness. Thank God we didn't lose this place!
