I think one of the two crews TGG normally uses are building Ravine Flyer II which is headed by Luis or Jeff or both.

I'd go all the way to Texas just to ride it and I'm going to have to since I won't be riding it this weekend along with the other "local" coasters. Silly Corey. How are your ribs?
They're fine now. Stupid Voyage.
rOLLocOASt said:Voyage was/and is just stupid. It's the craziest thing ever. It took Hades statement and threw it out the window... Along with all previous wooden coaster design. Honestly, how many of us weren't at least .
Voyage stupid?
Hmmm...
Son of Beast? Stupid.
Mean Streak (after Texas Giant fiasco?!)? Stupid.
Hercules (after Am. Eagle, Colossus, etc.)? Stupid.
Voyage? After all that? Well, would be stupid, but NOT for Holiday World. They have proven they can keep some pretty ferocious machines in top condition.
Looking forward to adding that to my museum of collectibles James. See ya in about 2 weeks!

Word is that Kemah has wanted to keep it hush hush for some reason, so TGG hasn't done much of any publicity for the Bullet.
From what I've heard the park is walking on eggshells with nearby neighbors (one within 10 feet!).
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4947107.html
"The only recourse for residents to quash a roller coaster is a city noise ordinance. The ordinance, which Kemah Boardwalk establishments must abide, forbids any loud or raucous noise clearly audible 50 feet or more from its source. It carries a fine of $500.
"We have some people who have invested in noise monitors and will more than likely bring the noise level to our attention," Kerber said.
End quote.
Something tells me the delay has a political twist to it as well.
Not sure what "delay" you are talking about. If it has to do with the construction taking so long, that is pretty much entirely due to weather. The area is about 12" above normal for yearly rainfall....most of that falling in the last 2-3 months. And back in Jaunary when they were still pouring concrete for the base of the ride, it rained nearly every day of the month making it impossible to do any work.
Kemah Boardwalk doesn't have much to worry about...the city of Kemah is definitely happy they are there. Thanks to sales tax from sales at the boardwalk, Kemah residents have had property taxes cut, don't pay for garbage collection, have a brand new community center, and a new water tower. The Volunteer fire department has recently gotten all new equipment as well.

Not sure how much they've got done since I was there last weekend...but it has rained all but 1 day so far this week in the area, had about 3" of rain today alone.

Voyage stupid?
Yes. It's Fing stupid.
There's nothing that I could possibly imagine that could ever top that experience. It's not a rollercoaster, it's a freakin' experience.
I love it so much I hate it.
Or maybe I hate it so much I love it... One way or another.

Of course the presence of the only looping coaster in western PA might be a good draw for DG once they get it going. If you want some wood while you are there, you can make the short trip over to Lakemont.

I only hate the fact that it may never be beaten.
Chuck, only someone else or Will Koch with the desire to build the ultimate coaster experience will do it and WILL did it in only his third try!

Would a compact design like BB be a solution if DelGrossos want to add wood some day?
I've never been to DelGrosso's but going by what I know about the place, I always thought that a compact out-and-back along the parking lot would work best. Two parallel wood coaster tracks don't take up that much room, maybe a row of parking spaces but not much more.
Chuck, I thought Fetterman was working with them on one but something fell through, Just what I had heard a couple years back
I like El Toro more because it's just more fun to me. I can ride it more than 6 or 7 times in a row without feeling mentally and physically drained like I was just on a 70 hour coke binge. Oh, and El Toro has pretty much the sickest airtime on a wooden coaster outside of the back on Riverside Cyclone.
But yeah, anyway... Voyage? It's sick. It's amazing. It's unreal. It's just Fing stupid. It's the greatest thrill ride I've ever experienced.
Now onto something other than stupid Voyage damnit! ;)
