Boardwalk and Baseball:Florida Hurricane

I've searched for good photos of the Florida Hurricane for a long time and finally ran across some.
Florida Hurricane Photos This coaster was located in Orlando Florida until about 1990.  Did anyone get a chance to ride it?  I did once but I was pretty young and don't remember much.  I'd also like to find some pics of the other rides in the park.  No luck yet on those... :-(

They helped build the ride, and there are some pics of it there too.

Do you mean www.rcdb.com? BTW, new here, cool site. Hopefully it's friendly unlike the old forums I was at.

No, I mean www.rcca.com  The Roller Coaster Corporation of America.
BTW, I like this forum better than others too.  Some of the people at danimation are just mean.
Thanks for the link.  Never knew who designed it.

Yeah, I really like these forums as well.  Danimation has too many so called "experts" for me.  I found another new forum at the same site that had those photos.  It is new but seems to be cool www.thrillrideexperience.com

That coaster and the Flying Daredevil were very fun. I compare the Hurricane to the GASM at SFOG. I rode these coasters way back when it was called Circus World. Too bad they closed the place down.
Isn't this coaster now the 'Arkansas Twister' at Magic Springs in Hot Springs Arkansas?  I had the misfortune to ride it before it's re-hab this year; it was incredibly rough!  It sounds like the re-hab was a big success and corrected most of the problems.  Anyone ride this one in Florida and Arkansas?  How would you account for this in your 'coaster count'?  :)
I found the Magic Springs site at www.magicsprings.com (Imagine that :-) and they have a short video of the Twister which apparently was the Hurricane.  Looks like different trains than from the pics I saw or remember.  I think they were pink :-)

This coaster really made the rounds in the name thing.  It has now been named after a Tornado, a Hurricane, and even a Michael Jackson song (Michael Jackson's Thriller) according to another site.  I wonder why it was named that and when that was?

Here is the direct link for the Hurricane photo page at RCCA http://www.rcca.com/hurricanescrapbook.html
