B&M Track Questions

Does Giovanola still produce the track for B&M coasters? I thought I read somewhere that B&M's track is manufactured in different places (I think there is a site in Ohio) Where are the other sites located at and is Giovonala in charge of these sites?

In North America, it's fabricated in southern Ohio. I believe there is a fabricator in Europe that does it as well.

Giovonola has nothing to do with any of it.

While there is no proof, other than realiable rec.roller-coaster posters, they claim that European B&M track IS manufactured by Giovonola. While it's hard to validate this claim, I'm going on the word of a few RRC veterans.

This post steems to say that Giovonola makes Eurpoean B&M track. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&threadm=3n18je%24l58%40nntpd.lkg.dec.com&rnum=8&prev=/groups%3Fhl%3Den%26q%3Db%2526m%2Btrack%2Bfabrication%2Bgroup%253Arec.roller-coaster

This one, specifically Dave Althoff's comment, makes it seem that B&M and the European park may go to the lowest bidder, which may have been Giovonolo at one time or another http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&threadm=1998090303174900.XAA09809%40ladder01.news.aol.com&rnum=20&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Db%2526m%2Btrack%2Bfabrication%2Bgroup:rec.roller-coaster%26hl%3Den%26start%3D10%26sa%3DN

This one offers some logical reasoning....B&M and Giovonola (and Intamin) all are based in Monthey Switzerland (or very nearby) so it would make sense that B&M (and quite possibly Intamin) would use Giovonola to make their track. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&frame=right&th=1d11c05fb065e881&seekm=01bdb421

I don't know how or if we can get a definative answer as far as Eurpean track is concerned, but we do know US B&M track is manufactured by Southern Ohio Fabricators, east of Cincinnati. I might even arrange a tour to prepare for my senior Architecture thesis. I'll post a trip report if I do ;P
