B&M Roller Coasters History

Yes...because as we all know, Deja Vu is a work of engineering genius, and only has problems because the park doesn't take care of it...yes...

Actually, if you were intellegent enough to understand my post, I was saying that his post had no place in this Thread. But I guess You right, Deja Vu is so horrendously bad in the engineering dept. that SO many People have died on it, and it's fallen over SO many Times, and It has never worked (Like ALL the Super Invertigo Coasters). Every company has some kinks, and while Vekoma isn't my fav. company, if they were truly Crap, their coasters wouldn't cost Millions, and there wouldn't ever be any new ones. Sounds like Crap to me.

Sorry.

I didn't know he didn't speak Englsih, :-)

Even the best companies can have some coasters go bad. One example I could think of would be Intamin's Wicked Twister at CP. It was down the majority of both my trips to the point last summer. But, I'd guess those problems would probably get worked out over this off season. I hope so, it's a great ride and I wanta see it running more this year.

Actually 2001 was it's 10 year anniversery, you forgot to count the year 2000.

No....the day you were born were you one year old?

WOW Someone who has rode EVERY SINGLE B&M and Vekoma and knows EVERYTHING about them. This is so old and boring, give it a rest, I've rode good and bad from both companies. Are we Forgetting that a coaster being crap comes from no maintanence from the park, NOT the company....

I'm entitled to my OWN opinion just like you are. Vekoma is currently flooded with lawsuits. I'm sorry, but riding a Vekoma coaster with DUCT TAPE all over the restraint isn't too assuring.

And who says they don't use duct tape on your favorite B&M, Intamin, Arrow, or any other coaster. How would you feel then, jkpark?

Well, I can see it on a wooden coaster. The famous Wildcat at the defunct Idora Park in beautiful Youngstown, Ohio had tape on the restraints. Heck, there were NO restraints, there was just a bar (non-adjustable and not a lap bar) that went across the seat and had duct tape on it.

I'm sorry everyone. Even though I disagree with a lot the other comments on this site, I'll stick to the topic and keep it clean. I wasn't raining on the parade, I just told it like it was. Once again, I apologize.

Please don't even start about Deja Vu. You're digging your own grave if you say it's Vekoma's fault that ride didn't work properly..

Funny, considering that even Vekoma's own engineers admitted privately that it would be a "maintenance nightmare". Their words, not mine.

All of the Super Invertigos suffer from the same incredible amounts of downtime that simply don't happen to other coasters. Not because SF doesn't know how to run them "properly", but because they're crap. And if you don't believe they're crap (from a maintenance perspective), then look around as to how many parks are rushing out and buying these things. Furthermore, is EVERY park on earth unable to care for Boomerangs or SLCs? I ask this because all of the ones I've been on (a list that includes 5 countries worth of these things) run like ass.

The whole point i was making though, is saying something like Company X is Crap while Company Y is Great was not ANYWHERE near on topic for this thread. jkpark, i almost agree with u in one respect, I think B & M is Much better quality, it's just getting REALLY old seeing it in every thread, esp. when the thread is about a B & M timeline, and before that NO ONE had mentioned ANYTHING about Vekoma, so as far as I can see it, you came to the thread to start trouble, and everyone else has been egging it on.

It was piontless to pass on an opinion that made no sense what so ever in the conversation at hand. It's okay to have an opinion, I never said yours was wrong, but you stated it as fact(if you had said "I feel that..." before the sentence, then it would have been understood as your OPINION), not what you felt, and there are those around here that feel the same way about Vekoma that you do about B & M, and vice versa.

jkpark, yet again adding another insightful comment to the topic at hand. Did you even bother reading the title before you posted?

Did you even bother reading my last post? I apologized. Let's not get into an argument here. Peace. :-)

Yes I did, and I still think you don't get it. Bashing a company or manufacturer doesn't make you cool. No one asked for your opinion of Vekoma.

You're right, I had no bussiness making a statement like that. I am NOT the first and only person who's ever did that on this site. Get over it.

I agree with jk park. I've never really been on a Vekoma that i really liked. I'll take an arrow over vekoma anyday. D.V. Isnt a bad ride. But it's not great either. I worked as a ride's host on D.V. at sfgreatamer back in 2001. Maint. kept saying boy this ride is a piece of crap. They take better care of their rides better then most ppl give them credit for. Granted they dont take care of them as well as they should. D.V. wasnt designed right. That's Vekoma's fault not the park's. Thats also why Vekoma filled for bankruptcy.

I swear, if B&M, Intamin, or CCI didn't exist, I often wonder how much smaller the coaster enthusiast community would be. It actually makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it--no one to complain incessantly about how much Vekoma or Arrow or GCI or whatever company sucks. I love them all. Whether or not one company's coasters are a tad rougher than another's is irrelevant in my book. Just ride the damn things, have fun, and shut up. ;)

Oh, and to get back on topic...it's a nice list. I actually have basically the same thing done up on an Excel spreadsheet on my home PC.
