B&M Pre-drop

When you guys build B&M's, how do you build the predrop?  Let me know like how many squares you track is and how many dots down and stuff like that.  I still haven't been able to get it quite right.

I just kind of glance at it from the side. I don't ever make the apex of the lift a vertex point - good or bad, I don't know, but my B&M pre-drops are turning out pretty well.

Usually I'll stop the lift (going straight up) about 10-15 feet under the actual height I need, then make the apex and mini-drop, then a short straight piece, then the drop.
