I have been paying close attention to the construction of Talon at Dorney Park, and had several questions regarding B&M products. Do their rides usually get erected faster than other coasters? It seems like once the footers are in, it is merely up to the track and supports, or am I missing something?
It seems like this year the contractors that are doing B&M's coasters are really constructing in record time. WildFire at Silver Dolar City is already pretty mch finished and Talon is sure taking shape in a hurry. I'm guessing this is due to the number of coasters they're making this year.

They're building three coasters...That's not exactly a hard task for B&M. Look at 1999 (9 coasters in US. True, IOA had 3 that were done basically in 98, but still. That's 6, including two hypers). 2000 had four floorless and one vertical drop. 2001 is actually a slow year for B&M.

The quick construction is pretty much the rule for any steel coaster these days. They're just big erector sets. Once the pieces are on-site, all you have to do is bolt them together, tighten it down, smooth the edges between track sections, do a pull-through, then finish with the grouting (the cement layer between the footers and supports). These things are so precisely manufactured these days that they go up in a hurry. Heck, once Millennium Force's towers went up, the rest went up in a hurry. Ditto for Batman at SFO.

Everybody calm down, the coasters do not open for another fifteen minutes.
I agree with Wild One. I think they're doing more then three.

Lots of announcements will be made this week, at the show. Look for B&M to grab a few headlines.
