Blizzard Beach or Hurrican Harbor

Hello everyone,

For my spring break I'll be going to Disney World. Some friends and I want to go to one of their water parks, but I'm having a hard time choosing between the two. Blizzard Beach has the Summit Plumit and huge family raft slide. On the other hand, Hurricane Harbor has a water slide similar to Master Blaster (a slide I've never rode before) and that big wave pool. So from personal experiences, witch do ya'll think is the better one???

Uh, I think you mean Typhoon Lagoon.

The spring break we did WDW it was earlier in the year and somewhat chilly, so we skipped the waterparks. Last year we did the Universal 5-park flex ticket which included the Wet-n-Wild waterpark in Orlando. It was our favorite park of the five. Even went back for a second day because we had so much fun. Bomb Bay was a blast.
Pluses of Typhoon Lagoon:
-The most amazing wave pool you will ever see, heads and sholders above any other wave pool ever made, this one feels like the real ocean (with out the sand in the swim suit, salt water, jellyfish, etc)
-Master Blaster
-The themeing (tropical island hit by a hurricane) is great
-Great Lazy River
-Swim with Sharks

Negatives of Typhoon Lagoon:
-Every slide but the Master Blaster is old, and frankly not that good

Pluses of Blizzard Beach:
-Summit Plummit: The worlds tallest speed slide, also the top of the slide is the only place in the world you can see every park's icon (ie the Castle, Spaceship Earth, The Hat and the Tree of Life)
-Teamboat Springs: The longest family raft ride, quite fun
-The other slides are much, much better then Typhoon Lagoon's
-It also has a great lazy river (cant really pick a favorite in this important category)

Negatives of Blizzard Beach:
-The theming while great, can make the park quite hot mid day
-The wave pool is a standard one with very low waves
-This park fills up fast, if you get there at opening and do the big three (Summit Plummit, Teamboat Springs and Slush Gusher) and then proceed to ride the other slides you can do them all in 2 hours, which ironically is about the time youll need to wait to ride the big three the rest of the day and the other slides will all have 1 hour waits.

Its really a question of what you want: if you want slides go to BB, if you want a relaxing day full of unique experiences pick TL. Of if you are choosing this based on a time issue, you can easily do both (BB in the morning, TL in the afternoon) on the same day.

Edit-Forgot to mention my recomendation. BB is the better all around water park, but that being said its not a trip to WDW until I vist both parks and I absolutly love spending an afternoon at TL where the only two "rides" I do are the lazy river and the pool. *** Edited 2/23/2007 12:35:18 AM UTC by Touchdown***

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

If you are 21, Typhoon Lagoon is a great place to pull up a beach chair next to the wave pool, grab a tropical drink and tie a load on. It's a very relaxing place. Just don't get ripped and then go for a dip. Do the dip part first....
I find that BB tends to get a lot more traffic then TL -- however BB is byfar the superior park.

Ask yourself if you need to swim with sharks and ride a Master Blaster -- if the answer is no, go to BB.

Thanks a lot everyone! BTW sorry for the Hurrican Harbor thing, I don't know where I got that from. lol

sws: Yea, that sounds good too, but the only reason I would want to go to Wet n Wild is for Bomb Bay... so I don't think it would be too wise for me to pay just to ride that.

Touchdown: That was perfect! Exactly what I was wanting to hear! lol I was leaning more to BB anyways, because of the slides. The main thing that was calling me to TL was the wave pool and the Master Blaster. I think the only downside will probably be how busy it is. I think next time I visit WDW I will take my girlfriend to TL since its more low key than BB.

Hanging n' Banging: Lol thanks, but I'm only 19 and don't plan on drinking... ever.

Thanks everyone for your help again! I guess I've made my choice... unless someone can give me a good reason to change to TL.

IMO It's a Tie on whether BB or TL is the Superior Park. If you cannot decide, flip a Coin and save the "Loser" for your next visit. After your day at the waterparks is over head over to Vittorio's Restaurant on International Drive for an :) All-You-Can-Eat :) Feast for about $11.00! If you want to $plurge go to either Crazy Grill (On I-Drive across from the Magic Midway "The Slingshot") or Tejas De Brasil. You WILL NOT be Dissappointed!

Wow, thanks that was something that was on my mind too. I'm sure there's going to be plenty place for me to choose from once i'm there. I will definitely try these two though. Thanks!

I asked this very question last year and we went to both, but liked Typhoon Lagoon a lot more. But they are both completely awesome, you can't go wrong with either. Just make sure you have comfy water shoes.

Oh really? What did you like most about Typhoon Lagoon? And thanks I will find me some good water shoes lol.
