blackpool pleasure beach building new launch ride for 2007 ???

on this site www.coasterforce.com it says that blackpool might be getting a new launch ride that will be the tallest in the world . they say it will launch out on to a pier on the sea and straight up.

does anyone know if this is true as i visit the park a lot.

That's been rumored for a few years now and each year it has not happened.

I thought I read somewhere that those "plans" were cancelled. Wouldn't surprise me since the park seems to have "new coaster commitment" issues!

Exactly. It was a rumor forever (following the long standing 4-D rumor) and of course now word is it's not going to happen. Not surprised.

Wasn't there a rumor about the new coaster being built over the water? Or am I behind the curve with my Blackpool rumors?

Yes, that was part of the rumor, and makes it WAY less believable.

Latest talk here is smaller coaster in 2006, next major coaster in 2010. There are also rumours of the SLC from Southports Pleasureland moving to the Pleasure Beach. Doesn't matter, the Nash will still be the best coaster in the park :)

I'm hoping that the Cyclone doesn't meet ther wrecking ball if Southport closes (which is looking more and more likely). Looks like a pretty good ride.

Never stopped the park in Morecambe going down with the loss of a good woodie :( (or two - I rode King Solomon in his original location lol)

It took a relocated Boomerang to get me to go to RRR, Clint.....those Vekomas just bring people IN... :)
