i was dissapointed with 3-Dementia, the other house i went in was decent, i was a little scared and tentative going around the corners and my girlfriend wouldnt go first, even though shes the one who loves the haunted houses.

the haunted trail was cool too, but we saw a couple in front of us getting all the scares, so we knew what was coming. some fog would have helped.

overall i think it was really nice. there was way more going on then i thought there would be, lots of ghouls walking around and good acting from everyone.

one funny thing about the lights going out. right after it went dark, my friends and i gathered on a bench and a chainsaw guy went after a group of kids walking towards the exit, they went running away scared. we then hear the chainsaw guy ask his co-worker if they should still be scareing people. he got a solid, no. :)

anyone stuck anywhere scooter? we almost took one last ride on villain. im glad we passed.

edit: one more thing, whats up with the parking lot in front of x-flight being torn up? has that always been like that, i never noticed it before.

With the completion of the new Geagua Lake Road, what good is it. The rumor was once the new road was finished, they were going to extend the parking lot and put a turn around for the hotel guest up by the entrance.

My best guess is they'll add more parking spaces.

While SFGAm charges for their 2 haunted houses($5 each), they have the whole picnic grove setup as Necropolis(City of the dead) which is free and has plenty to do and see in it.

I could spend hours in this area. :)

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

downside to free = slightly longer lines, though.
I'm not sure about all Six Flags parks, but when I went to SFAW a few years ago, I do not remember a charge for the haunted houses.

Frontier City doesn't charge for the first visit through, but for additional visits there is an additional charge.

When I went to SFOT the house was free and the line was 4 hours long. Then some people went through it destroying walls, etc. (why people do this and think it is funny I do not know). Because of the damage, the house had to close early and the people who had waited that long were really mad. .

That day was crazy - even the mine train had a 1.5 hour wait. The parking lot was full and they were actually turning people away at the gate. The park gave out passes to those inside the gates to come back another day for free.

I don't think it's a bad thing for SFWoA to charge extra for the haunted houses. ONLY the houses were extra. The side attractions like Zambora of the Amazon, the Headless Woman, and even the Trail of Terror were free.

And like SFDL Dude says, free houses equals longer lines. I don't want to wait an hour or so for a haunted house that may end up being lame.

I guess once you can vote you don't feel nearly as strong about the value of haunted houses.

Actually, I love the free haunted houses BECAUSE they have longer lines...meaning shorter lines for the coasters! I'm not easily scared and have yet to go through a haunted house (even those I've paid for) that scared me. I go to laugh at the silly girls who freak out.

Actually, I was a in coustume as a Ghoul when the power went out. I was working in the haunted trail. When the power went out we basically flushed the houses and paths of guests, and then we helped people to the front of the park. After that, I ran back to wardobe to get out of costume and went up to Batman to help with getting the guests of the train. The power left one train half in/out, and the second waiting to enter the station. All in all, it was really fun, in a weird kinda way. What with no lights in the park, pitch black... and most employees will tell you the park is haunted!

I know of at least one park in this market that charges extra (a lot extra) for their water slides..........but I guess that's O.K.

You must not have been at CP the first Saturday for Halloweekends (Sept. 18th). Lines were very long for the haunted houses and even longer for the coasters.

You know when a park is very crowded when there is a line for the MEN'S RESTROOM!

Well actually I never was at a park at halloween until about 3 years ago and it was SFWoA (it was my first time having a pass) and i wasnt suprised that they charged i went only in one of them though...But when I went to Cedar Point this year for the first time on halloween I was VERY suprised that they were free I expected a 10 dollar charge or so but it was free I was happy :) even though I havent gone in any of them yet but still i was glad that they were free, just one more reason to like CP more than SFWoA mayb ill go in one when I make my weekly trip there ;)
OK OK I'm sorry! I went back to SFWoA this past Friday and had the BEST time! It was raining and COLD but it was probably the best time I've ever had at that park. I didn't ride much, just 3 laps on Batman and a couple of rotations on Texas Twister, but it was all worth the cold and rain! The park was empty. There was maybe 50 cars in the parking lot. I even did the Haunted Houses again, and while I still think they aren't that great, they were better. I guess it all depends on who your with as to how much fun you have.

I have to say that the Krusty Ice Scream guy was the BEST part of the whole night. He was great. (Pretty hot too!) He would pick on people and just made the night fun. So if any of you SFWoA workers knows him tell him he does a great job!

What I do when I'm not riding roller coasters!

Having built several local haunted houses the funny thing is if the power goes out the emergency lights come on spoiling the effects that have to have specific lighting i.e. strobes, red lights, black lights . the local fire marshal actually asked what we would do if the power fail ? i told him we would pretend it was a new effect the totaly dark haunted house.
X-Factor you should have gone to CP this Sunday. TTD had 20 min all day long! MF had a wait and everything else (including the houses) were walk ons. The best day at an amusment park, ever!

I dont care what anyone says Magnum is better then MF, which is better then TTD!
