Not possible, actually. :) I remember riding KD's Sky Pilot a few times (never much cared for the ride, actually), and often specifically tried to keep the tub upside down. When you let go of the joystick at 180°, the tub righted itself automatically after a second or so, which rendered the joystick useless until the tub came to rest in the upright position.

Flight Commander's line area is still there, correct? I remember it vividly for some reason, I also remember riding the thing its first season and being terrified that my sister was going to keep me upside down the entire time.
