Biloxi Beach Park- destroyed by Hurricane Katrina

I have a recent picture of this park, but nowhere to upload it. Can someone email me; I'll attach it to an email to you and you can post it?

Thanks,

best image host there is.

I do know that all that survied of the park was the go-cart track and the bumper boats. Everything else is gone according to the paper.

Btw, why not host it on the website that is listed in your sig?

I was just at Biloxi Beach Park this summer. It was more of a FEC than a park. Standard FEC fare - Go-karts, bumper boats, mini golf, batting cages, arcade. The arcade had a nice selection of pinball machines and even a vintage bowling machine.

However they did have a decent selection of classic rides: Paratrooper, Eli Wheel, Scrambler, Tilt, bumper cars, a kiddie coaster (Schiff? Molina? )and a few kiddie rides.

That and it had just about every kind of coin operated kiddie ride ever made.

Accross the street from it was a water park that had been abandoned at least before this season. Some of the inground slide troughs could still be seen, nut not much else.

After seeing what Katrina did to several more massive structures, it comes as no surpise to me that this little FEC, would be demolished.

Are you sure that you were at the Biloxi Beach Park? I don't recall ever seeing anything of that nature there. They had a small Miler coaster when I rode by back in May, but I dont recall seeing any of that other stuff. If it was there, I must have been really out of it. lol

Josh, bechfront park situated between Sharkheads (the LARGE hot pink painted souvenir superstore) and the Treasure Bay (pirate ship) casino?

Parking lot to the west of the park, ticket cage looks like a castle turret, main pathway painted like the yellow brick road from Wizard of Oz. The kiddie coaster was along the side closest to the beach behind the mini golf.

Not to be confusded with another FEC that is on the inland side of Route 90 a bit to the west of the Coliseum and Beavoir.

It had to be BB I saw then. Dang, I must have really been out of it to not notice all of the other things there. I do remember seeing the coaster and the golf course though....

I didn't know that there was another FEC on the other side of 90. Wonder if it faired an better?

In other news... I wonder how that new waterpark in Gulfport (Gulf Islands) did? I know they had a masterblaster and several other slides there.

Does anyone have any photos of the park before the hurricane demolished it?

Sad. The death of any amusement park is truly unfortunate.
That place got leveled. Wow, that is sad.

I'd love to get my hands on some pre-Katrina pics of the park.

Maybe 3 Doors Down will rebuild the park? ;)

Someone on RRC is "planning" on sending me a few pics Rob. If I get them, I'll share.
