Bill Gates and Six Flags

It's been reported that on top of the 11.8% of the company Gates already owns, he just dropped another 1.7 mill to buy more stock.

Gee, I wonder if Bill is wanting to diversify now that Apple is switching to Intel?

Seriously, it appears someone thinks that the Flags' fortune will turn around, one way or another.

Maybe he will slowly buy his way to an total take over, use some of his tons of cash to makes these parks great. When the parks are nice well kept, have well trained employees with good pay, and well maintained rides the parks would become way more profitable and make him even richer ;O)

I wonder if there's any truth to the rumour that 'CTRL,' 'ALT' and 'DEL' keys will be retrofitted to ride control panels ;)

Uh, he's not going to use "tons of cash" to do anything other than buy a stake in the company. He's not a bank.

Even with the insane debt, I still don't believe that Six Flags' greatest problem is money. Fire the execs. Hell, replace the board for letting those idiots continue to run the company.

I think Bill should buy Conneaut Lake Park. Considering there's only person on their board, he shouldn't be hard to replace. :)

How many times I've been surfing the TV channels only to run across stations proudly displaying "the blue screen of death". Maybe that's what will replace Mr. Six when he's outlived his marketing usefulness.

Just got off the phone dealing with an XP user....what is UP with those insane "Category views"? Couldn't even *find* the Java control settings, LOL...

I've been running XP since beta 2, that's four years, and it has never crashed or blue screened.

if people wanted to fire the board they should have talked to the stock holders. i know I am one. There was recent vote for the board of directors next term. I actually dont remember what i voted lol . Anyway ITs not the board members fault its the person running each park . I just sold all my six flags stock too. Blah! Cause its starting to go back up. I've been sitting on it for 2 years now.

I got an idea...we'll have microsoft themed IMAX theatres...and he can rename the company to microflags. Fire the execs, put in all new staff. and viola better!

Never had a blue screen of Death with XP or XPSP2. Oh, and I don't need tech support, I am the tech support! ;)

... I can imagine if Bill did takeover... Steve Jobs would 'sponsor' the ride to keep the name (Mac OS) X. :-)

As for the BSOD and XP crashing... I've had mixed feelings about it... and while I still have a main Windows PC.... my main computer is a PowerMac G5... I've been loving it :-)

If I was Bill Gates I'd buy Six Flags and rename Mr. Six to Mr. XP!
