Big Thunder Mountain at WDW is scheduled for a rehab

Posted | Contributed by Mongoose

This September, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad mine coaster at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World will temporarily close. It will go through routine maintenence procedures, and get a general update. Also, there has been FastPass talk. Just letting anyone going to WDW in September know that Big Thunder will not be available.

Big Thunder Mountain already has a fastpass doesn't it? Or was that Splash mountain, or Space Mountain? There are too many mountains in that park!!! :)
the last two week ago at disneyland i used fastpass i love it took me ten min to wait in line than one hours.

Don't say that, coasterbuffjc! We're anxiously awaiting the announcement of the NEW Disney mountain... The fabled FIRE MOUNTAIN or the even more elusive VILLAIN MOUNTAIN!

Big Thunder dosen't have a fastpass. But it should be getting fastpass within a year. A worker told me that.

Since Disney parks are open year-round, there is no time in which the entire park can be closed and refurbished. I live near d-land and this is common in the Fall, Winter, and Spring (I will assume all Disney parks are run in the same manner). They want everything to shine in the Summer, around Christmas and Spring Break. Temporary shut downs, which can last months, are common. I guess it is Big Thunder's turn for a fresh coat of paint.

As for fastpass, I have no idea.

Gotta ride 'em all!
It will get new paint, rocks, wheels, queue line(in some spots)and probably(80% sure) get a fast pass system.
