Big screwup?

I finally got RCT2 and started to play. I always started my parks in RCT1 as a pay-per-ride park. After getting the park built up a bit, I would switch to a park admission and make all the rides free. Well I tried that and tried and tried, but I could not get my first game to switch to an admission park. I did a search here and found out that it was pre set for you and you could not change it, so I went back to playing.

I had well over 1500 people in my park buy the beginning of year 3 when I started to tinker with the admission. After going back to the game, my attendance dropped and dropped and dropped. I advertised, lowered prices, put in more rides, and still my attendance dropped.

By the beginning of year 4, I was back down to 500 people. I thought that maybe the new game had less people come to the park in the bad seasons, April rained a lot at my park. Then finally, I checked my park setting and my park was closed. I had closed it trying to figure out how to charge admission. I had toggled this on and off several times and just fergot to turn it on the last time.

With some aggressive advertising and a few free rides, I was able to get my 1500 people back into the park by the end of October and complete the game.

Just wanted to share my little brain cramp with you. I was a little disappointed with the new game when I first started. It looked just like the old game. Then I started to play. So many new features, new stalls, new rides. I'm hooked.

There is a new twist in the Top-Hat. :)

It's easy to accidentally switch a ride or park from open to closed. I've done it many times.

The thing that cracks me up about RCT2 is when an entire queue full of people suddenly decides they don't want to pay $10 to ride a dinghy slide or whatever, and clear out within seconds. So you lower the price to $8 and they all come back.
