The Robin train is now, and I quote, "Permanently" located inside the station. This quote came from a ride op. I guess he means that it will no longer be placed on the transfer track. The train was just sitting dormant inside the station all day. No test runs that I saw...but I saw it testing on Thursday, so no need to worry.
Viper will be torn down. There is nothing to point out what will replace it, but it is definite that the ride will be destroyed. I know how on the Coaster Celebration forms it says that Viper will be running, but they have replaced Viper with Twister for the ERT. Just go to any Guest Relations window and ask about it.
I have found out the location for the upcoming Alcatraz: The Ride! If you have been to the park lately, you will notice that part of the queue for the Centerfuge (scrambler) has been covered. Also, a new pathway was poured, zig-zagging up to Centerfuge's exit. Well, this is all being done in preparation for Alcatraz. Centerfuge and Space Shuttle will be moved to a separate area of the park. They are NOT being removed. They will re-open next year in a new area. Alcatraz will span the entire area from Centerfuge to the Space Shuttle.
There is some construction going on inbetween Dare Devil Dive and Dino Island. Don't get too excited about this. It is simply construction for a new warehouse for storage of the games prizes.
Here's the biggest news of all: Parachute Drop will be removed. Now, before you get all dissapointed, here is the reason: The Parachute Drop Tower was struck by lightning earlier on in the year, and it completly fried the computers. The ride has been unable to operate, and the park cannot get new parts. Now, here is what's going in it's place: AN S&S SLINGSHOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These can be found at CP as VertiGO, and at SFMM as Thrill Shot. SFGAdv already has a temporary Sling Shot attraction in front of Dino Island. Now, the temporary Sling Shot is an ENORMOUS money maker...it has been recorded to bring in $1 million in 1 day alone! With the success of this ride, SFGAdv has decided to invest in the bigger, better version. Be on the lookout for 3 265 foot towers being installed over the winter. This will be the tallest ride in the park once it opens!
There you have it, the run-down of news for SFGAdv. Robin is almost ready to open, Viper will be torn down, Alcatraz: The Ride will be put in where Centerfuge and Space Shuttle now stand, the construction by DDD is nothing to be concerned about, and an S&S SlingShot attraction will replace the Parachute drop next year.

I too hope that they invest in an Intamin free-fall tower. Preferably an Intamin Stand Up Gyro-Drop. We'll have to wait for the official announcement for that, though.

Let's say it costs $30 per person to ride the SlingShot. That'st $60 total per shot. To get to $1M in one day, that means it'd have to launch 16,666 times. Since it doesn't launch that much (I'd guess) the entire YEAR, I'm going to say you're wrong here.
Unfortunately, I now don't believe anything you say. :) Well, except for Robin's train being on the track, that's true.

"No listenin', you hear me?"
Since upcharge attractions like slingshots, sky coasters and the like are all extremely low-capacity rides, parks will always need to charge extra for them, otherwise the lines will be unbelievable. Personally, I don't care one way or another regarding more of these attractions being installed anywhere, as long as coasters and other types of "standard" amusement park rides continue to be built. If the money the park makes from these rides goes into other park improvments, its all good to me.
SFDL's Sling Shot is an evaluation ride, too! SFGAdv is doing the same thing! Listen, if SF Inc knows that people will pay money, they will add the rides. Let's run down the list of upcharges:
Turbo Force, Dare Devil Dive, Go-Karts, Rock Climb Wall, Sling Shot, Laser Tag, Alcatraz: The Ride, Various Virtual Reality areas
8 friggin upcharge attractions make SFGAdv the upcharge capital of the world! Obviously SF Inc sees that SFGAdv is the largets moneymaker of the chain and that the people that come to the park will pay for the upcharges! Ever see Field of Dreams? "If you build it, they will come." How true that phrase is.
There are plenty of areas for an Intamin drop tower. The park has 1600 acres left to expand onto! Plus, they have the dormant Batman Stunt Show arena....they could easily tear that down and fit in a tower!
